I'm planning on going up there for a few days to see the Army vs Navy game and some other things. Are there any must see attractions, or bars/resturants that any of you can recommend?

I've always been a fan of the Bureau of Printing & Engraving tour. You get to see sheets of money being printed and pallets of cash. I think it's fun. There is also a gigantic Einstein statue somewhere in the area. I stumbled across it years ago and have a pic of me sitting on his lap. Holla

11/24/2011 8:55:30 AM
yea you have to get tickets, give your social security number and get a background check before you'll be able to let it in.the west wing tour is kinda cool - but so not as exciting as i thought it would be
11/24/2011 9:07:38 AM
you must go to shake shack in dupont circle. one of the best burgers I've ever had, and so satisfying after walking around the city all day.
11/24/2011 10:15:03 AM
Is that the new place that took Fuddrucker's place on 18th and connecticut?
11/24/2011 10:15:55 AM
yup.it's meh.... i like BGR joint better
11/24/2011 10:18:14 AM
I haven't been to either. I think I may have eaten at every restaurant in that area except those 2. Unless BGR is the one north of the circle, and they sell a burger called the wellington? in that case, BGR is awesome.
11/24/2011 10:22:06 AM

B4C I got you covered man. Just a few cool things:1) The National Mall is just crawling with optimal women for collage-making.2) Take your foam finger on the subway!3) Go see a BLACK man in the WHITE house (he doesn't even have blackface on).Et cetera.
11/24/2011 10:38:27 AM
B4C isn't going to be interested in anything to do with Matchbox. How soon we all forget his Hot Wheels thread, I see.
11/24/2011 10:42:53 AM
I just came here to say that you people who think BGR is better than Shake Shack are high.

Old Town AlexandriaAlso, this: http://www.monaco-alexandria.com/civil-war/index.htmlImmerse yourself in Civil War history at the Hotel Monaco AlexandriaToday, Kimpton's Hotel Monaco Alexandria is a thriving and stylish hotel, but 150 years ago it was home to a humble inn that would become a noted Civil War landmark. In May of 1861, a dramatic and deadly skirmish took place between a Union officer and the proprietor of the Marshall House (now home to the Monaco). The inn holds the distinction of being the site on which the first soldier of the Civil War died in the line of duty. Throughout the war thousands visited the inn, often taking a souvenir from the site as a remembrance. You too can visit the place where it all began, and immerse yourself in fascinating Civil War history. Our luxury boutique hotel accommodations are located in beautiful Old Town Alexandria, just minutes from the museums in downtown Washington, D.C. and centrally located to many of the historical Civil War battle sites.[Edited on December 13, 2011 at 10:38 PM. I'll be down in DC this weekend; arrive Friday evening, spending Saturday seeing the sights, and then also some more sights Sunday afternoon before driving back.Anyone have some suggestions on where to eat and what to see? I'll be staying near Farragut West Metro Station, so 17th Street Northwest and I St Northwest. I've been to most of the museums and general touristy stuff before (but it's been a few years) I'd like to find some great eating places and maybe a really good bar for Friday night.
10/23/2012 9:54:32 AM

10/23/2012 10:01:21 AM
U street corridor isn't too far. or georgetown. but georgetown is a lot of college students who are richer than snot. if you haven't seen the WWII memorial, check that out. you won't be running past it on sunday. EMCE would have better ideas about going out in DC... i stay on my side of the river a lot.
