i was looking here to get something rather than windows firewall and was wondering if any of you guys have a personal preference?

do i even need a firewall? im running microsoft security essentials on tinyxp- it doesnt include windows firewall so i was wondering if i need a third-party one.

i think ive used zonealarm at some point in the past and it was a resource hog.

if you are on a public or open wifi, yes
if you behind a private router, no (so long as you have the router firewall enabled)
