for all you travelers of the skies:AA or Delta for weekly round-trips from RDU to New York, NY? I'll probably be staying in the Brooklyn area so I'd presume LGA or JFK?I'll rack up 44 (planned) segments within a few months but both seem to have comparable levels to reach status.

We use US Air and LGA (if we're going to Manhattan). I haven't really looked at the frequent flyer program (I am a member), but I don't travel enough for it to matter; my bosses are the top/next to top levels.

LGA is the most convenient area to fly into in my opinion. But I never lived in or visited Brooklyn. Also which part of Brooklyn are you going to. Brooklyn is pretty big (it's an entire county)

I will never Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever fly Delta again. They single handed-ly ruined my honeymoon.

why not JetBlue?

Usually US Air or AA are the best options (rates & times). I usually fly into LGA (rare exception JFK) because I lived in/visit Manhattan. But if I were going straight to Brooklyn, I'd go JFK. I've only flown Jet Blue into/out of JFK if it wasn't just a stop over... though they're SOBs it sounds like.

Will be working close to:2 MetroTech CenterBrooklyn, NY 11201

Seems a bit closer to JFK, but either would work. I'd go with ticket price and timing as the deciding factor.

JFK has the Air Train to connect you directly to the subway system, if that matters at all.

I've learned to avoid LaGuardia like the plague. I've been cancelled, not delayed, more often than not. That may be because American flights from RDU are on the smaller aircraft though.

I normally fly Delta. They have plenty of flights to JFK and LGA though I would suggest JFK because the air train is great and cheaper/quicker than a cab[Edited on November 4, 2011 at 8:27 PM. Reason : ]

out of RDU you will get more use out of AA status/points

I'm trying to decide between AA and US Air now...really need to be on a plane with wifi so I can work. Transportation costs are expensed so no worries on my end.

I'd go with whatever carrier runs more regional jets with first class seats in 'em. You'll hate being Diamond with no first class seats to get upgraded to.

Something else to think about, will you be flying anywhere else? Most of the American RDU-JFK/LGA flights don't have any first class seats (some do, but they've been rare)... but if you are going to fly after this stint elsewhere, you could use this as a rush to get status before the end of the year.

I know it's a pain to travel or whatever, but you frequent flyers are still so glamorous to me. It's just soooo cool to jet around and stuff!

GO JETBLUE. keep me in a job.

I usually fly Delta from NYC to RDU (Hi, I live in NYC now).I'm also based in Brooklyn (like most I work in Manhattan, but I live not too far from where you'll be working). Both JFK and LGA are kind of a bitch to get to without a cab. That being said, if you fly into JFK you can take the AirTrain to the LIRR, then that's just one train (an actual train, not a subway) into Atlantic - Pacific Station in Brooklyn. Your work isn't far from there, and all told it's about $13 in fares and about an hour of your time. LGA requires a bus (the M60) to a train (the N), then about an hour on the subway through Manhattan to reach where you need to be in Brooklyn.Cabs can be had from each airport (yellow cabs on the way out from the airport to work, and a car service from Brooklyn to the airports). LGA is about $30 / one way and JFK was about $45ish. A cab will take you anywhere from :30 (or less) to :45-60 depending on traffic. JFK is at least :45, more with traffic. My vote is for JFK due to the option to take the LIRR from the AirTrain - neither are really painful to do and I like not having to hop on a bus that takes forever after arriving home (LGA).

I take the bus from the Grand Asia parking lot.

^^ he's expensing travel - he'd be stupid to take a bus/train over a taxi
