We have an old equipment trailer on the farm that was built with the hubs and wheels from a 47 ford f5. the bolt pattern is 5x7.75 and the rim uses a 7.5 x 20 tire. They are the old old multipart rim, no lock ring, stud piloted with some big negative backspacing. The trailer is very well made and we use it all the time but the rims are deteriorating to the point of being unsafe. I want to have a pair of 19.5 rims made but cant find a shop to do it. 19.5s would be shorter and easier to find, both in the plus column. Stockton wheel in Ca was my first idea but they are closed ( or were). cut and weld is not an option, we pull this on the highway.

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaPer and easier to just go with the adapter approach?

i'd put new axles under it[Edited on October 15, 2011 at 12:33 PM. Reason : 1 axle and mounting kit is only about $300-350]
