I was low on Transmission Fluid about 6 months ago when I brought it in to Griffin Transmission. They were unable to find the leak but refilled it. It took them 4 weeks to do this.

I'm not noticing any of the symptoms that I had last time; but, if I were to have this done again, where should I take it? I can't go without a car for 4 weeks, again.

Does the e46 lack a dipstick for some fucked up reason?

^ i'm betting it's checked by sensor, so no dipstick is required (in theory).

when was the last time the filter was changed? as far as filling, it's pretty easy to do yourself, easy enough that the dealer shouldnt rape you if you took it there. also, taking it to the dealer would guarantee you getting the proper fluid

Ahahaha. My guess is $300 for a transmission drain and fill.

considering they charge $160 for an oil change, I'd imagine a tranny drain and fill would be more. not to mention he might need some troubleshooting if the condition pops up again.
