I'm pretty impressed if they actually arrested 1000 people in one sitting. Just on a logistical level.Morally, it stinks.Link?

hippies got arrested. What did they think was going to happen?
10/2/2011 10:46:27 AM
Technically, any individuals past the 700 mark were "detained"...Looks like it doesn't take much to overwhelm the biggest police department in the world. I'll bet we could cripple raleigh with a mere 300 arrests.

The New York Times isn't a reliable news source. Editors are cleansing any reports of police misconduct.

Someone needs to tell these hippies to stop annoying the people trying to make their living.
10/2/2011 3:38:35 PM
^Watch the interviews. A good number of them are young college grads who cant find good jobs. They claim to be the "over-educated and under-employed". Sure, there a plenty of stinkin' hippies too, but the protestors do make a good point.

Obviously this source is ~, but has some good pointshttp://www.infowars.com/occupy-wall-street-protesters-call-totalitarian-government-re-election-of-obama/Fucking hippies

^ I think that paints the wrong picture of this movement. Its not a partisan movement. These protesters are intellectual and aware of government corruption on both sides. They know the government, corporations, and police cannot be trusted. They know of the Fed's role in this mess and they know that Obama surrounds himself with corporate interests. This isn't a tea party rally.

the problem with an overly large government is that the larger it gets the more corruption, the more special interest the more say, the more the corporations end up writing the laws that run your lives.

Democracy has had a good run. I'm ready to try totalitarianism.

I wonder, if the cops tell me they are going to arrest me for doing X, and I then do X, are the cops wrong for arresting me?
