GODAMMIT, first of all (4000 miles).

my dealership has a full bodyshop so im assuming i should let them take care of it.

i have to take it in for service soon anyway...

what exactly are they gonna do and how much is it gonna cost? has anyone done this before? were you pleased with the results?

thanks!

depends on if its a door, hood, etc

you might can take a plunger and get it out.

depends on the dent.

dent is quarter sized- looks like what youd see after a hailstorm or something (except theres just 1 of them and its on the door).

no picture yet.

I have 6800 miles on my Juke. It came with a dent in the hood and a scratch on the inside painted door handle. Both were fixed at the dealership for free.

Most have a paintless dent repair and it will most likely be $50 or less to get it fixed.

What color is yours?

If not your dealership there might be a Dent Wizard around here. I think they charge $50-100.

May I ask how you got the dent? (if you know)

apparently my dealership will fix it for free, even though its almost an hour round trip.

does this process typically look "good as new?"

the dent guy is also only available on wednesdays... i guess he has a bodyshop of his own and likely travels between several dealerships on that day?

anyway, i got it because i park in a parking deck at work. i came out the other day and some huge SUV was parked like 6 inches from me on the passenger side. i assume it was them- i wash it pretty regularly and this was the first time i noticed it. its also the first time someone has parked so obnoxiously bad next to me. i thought i was gonna knock a mirror off backing other.

^it should look good as new. I doubt you'd be able to notice anything "off" after the repair. Sucks about the parking garage though. Can you park in another spot of the deck where people seldom park? At my office I park in a dead zone (furthest distance from both building entrances) where nobody else ever parks. And whenever I go to the grocery store or similar store I always park all the way in the back. Nobody ever parks next to me. zero door dings here

*knock on wood*

^ I do the same, but it seems like people are attracted to park next to other cars. I don't get it. I'll park 15 spaces past the last car in the row and when I come out there are two cars parked next to me. People are weird.

I hear ya. I try to always get an end spot

on a related note I was at Best Buy last week and watched some guy park his (previous generation) V6 Mustang in THREE spots...and he was only 10-12 rows back from the front of the parking lot.

It also cracks me up how much people are willing to waste time driving around looking for a front spot or will wait for someone to pull out of a close spot. Meanwhile they could have parked 40 feet further away and already be inside the store. Fuck, people are lazy.

pissed me off too this bitch was obviously some biology professor (judging from their bumper stickers).

or possibly ecology, anyways, its a professors only lot.

this fucker has at least a dozen save the world stickers on a goddamn nissan armada.

oh the irony.

if they arent the ones that hit my door they must have slithered out the passenger side. nobody was around when i parked there, but there was about 3 feet of space on their passenger side cause they were 6 inches from me.

i dont understand why people wont back up and even themselves out. whenever i drive my truck i know i cant get it first try. if im parking between two cars ill pull behind the car opposite me, back up, pull in perfectly straight first try.

fuck, im still mad.

the question now is this: my dealership will fix it for free but its a decent amount of gas to get there. furthermore they can only do it on wednesday. i could save the time and hassle and go to a place a couple miles from my job that has stellar reviews. at least see how much it would cost?

money in the tank is the same as money in the wallet. they do this shit day in/day out too, not just wednesdays. im a little weary of the traveling dent guy.

i always try to park in the middle of nowhere because my truck is long and doesn't have power steering, makes low speed parking maneuvers a pain in the ass. get a solid shoulder workout from it when necessary.

inevitably, someone parks next too me.

Yeah, i usually park in the back of the lot away from people, because the truck is like 20' long, and I don't want people to fuck up my Z06.

Leery? Or wary? Or are you just really tired of doing business with the traveling dent guy?

its probably going to happen many more times. i should probably rack up a few more before i even take it in.

since its free at my dealer its not like it matters.

still fucking pisses me off. the juke really is a great little car.

If there are 30 empty spots out in new man's land and you still choose to park next to someone else then yeah, you're doing it to piss them off. Nothing to do with "the walk". But at this point I think you're just trolling...
