I was offered a 1 Gen Ipad 16 GB wifi for my XBox 360 with 20 GB HD, 3 controllers and 12 games (none that new but some COD, Halo 3, and Rainbow Six type games)...is this a fair value or does it seem one side is getting more?

I would take the iPad in a heartbeat... but out of the 4-5 years I have had my 360 the only games I have bought has been NCAA and Madded and, for the last 3 years, just NCAA

Thanks guys.Does it matter it is the 1 Gen? I know mostly cosmetic differences b/w Ipad 1 and 2...but will Ipad 3 destroy Ipad 1's value?

Make the trade.
9/13/2011 10:03:53 PM
Don't make the trade.

Stein: why do you think I shouldn't?
9/13/2011 10:43:48 PM
I think Noen is hinting that the new Xbox is coming out soon.
9/13/2011 11:26:42 PM
^Nope.I'm hinting that it's a good trade. Gen1 iPad is worth ~300 bucks.20gb xbox360 non-S is worth $150ish max. Controllers worth 10 each, games worth 5-10 each. Best case his 360 is worth 180 + 120 = 300. It won't sell for that on ebay or craigslist. You can get 300 all day long for an iPad.

I'd try to put the games into amazon.com and see what their trade in value is. I "traded in" 9 wii games and got over $200 in amazon credit for it.

I think the more important question here is:which device do you want and how much will you use it?If you're simply trading to eventually cash in on the Ipad, then the value is important; otherwise, you need to factor in utility.

Keep in mind ^that's one sad little man's opinion.

make the trade, then sell the iPad
9/14/2011 2:37:54 PM
monetarily, I'd think the ipad would be worth more, but if I had an xbox360 laying around and had no need for it, I'd simply mod it, put a shit ton of old games on it and use it as a netflix/multimedia streaming box.
9/14/2011 3:51:28 PM
How often do you actually play your Xbox? Since you said most of them are a little on the older side probably not that much? If so, go with the iPad.
9/14/2011 5:21:39 PM
Ipad.

I mean I wouldn't mind having an ipad to do simple tasks, but no way in hell I'm spending $500 for an oversized ipod. For that price, I might as well buy 6 ipod touches and duct tape them into a box and call it an ipod 3d... or and ipod touch box or ibox touch... It'll be even more of a novelty item and I bet I could build one and sell it to some idiot for a profit.I also don't like the idea that you get no file management control without a 3rd party app. Unless they added that recently that I don't know about?

I was just over-exaggerating the use by creating a fictitious product that served no purpose but with a fancy name and rename the duct tape as iholdtogether... sorry you didn't get the jokeDid not mean to say you can find ipod touches for 83 bucks each, although that's about what they cost to build.

you're...special.

I truly am. I like to think outside the box only because I suck within.
9/15/2011 3:18:22 AM
I mean if I didn't have either I'd take the xbox, ipads are neat and all but not that great (nor is any other tablet right now)@ Noen, where are you getting working wireless 360 conrollers for $10 each? I need another one.[Edited on September 15, 2011 at 10:15 AM. Reason : ]

I don't use my XBox at all, so I'd do this trade. Mine just collects dust, it serves no purpose anymore. I played NHL 11 on it, but then immediately went back to NHL 10 on PS3 as I felt it was better. I guess I'm just not an XBOX fan..
