Since he posted these images after the fact, what is the security risk, other than having a moron work as an air traffic controller?
9/12/2011 11:52:43 AM
You mean what's the risk with this guy who seemingly has posted classified info? Nah, there's absolutely no harm in that at all, he's trustworthy.
9/12/2011 11:56:03 AM
Well yeah, there's obviously that, hence the last part of my question I meant more is there a risk to having that information out in the public even after the fact?
9/12/2011 11:59:18 AM
The routes for the president are often preferred and reused.
9/12/2011 12:01:04 PM
Ianam/sf,But that does divulge the details of 'a' flight plan, which could conceivably be the same as a future flight plan. I assume it gives a plane model, names of pilots or staff, or something that you wouldn't want to broadcast. And he's also publicizing that he has access to flight plans, so someone mean could somehow entice him to obtain a future flight plan for some reason. And they're supposed to be confidential.
9/12/2011 12:01:59 PM
its not just the information posted statically. it's that it may indicate any number of tendencies or proclivities to the nature of flight planning for AF1. maybe they switch up routes every mission. maybe they dont. if i care about where AF1 is going to be at any point in the future, I'd be looking at any info like this to extract any patterns i could that could help me predict its behavior and give me the best chance to do whatever i was planning to do involving the aircraft.
9/12/2011 12:03:09 PM
And by routes, I mean plane info, altitudes, VORs, fixes, speeds, etc
9/12/2011 12:04:46 PM
Yeah, that is probably protected information as well
9/12/2011 12:08:32 PM
9/12/2011 12:14:11 PM
^ Yeah I laughed at that too.
9/12/2011 12:17:40 PM
Yea this is bad. Anyone with a time machine could go back in time and know the exact details of his flight.
9/12/2011 12:29:34 PM
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure ncsuapex would enjoy watching me mouth fuck his significant other.
9/12/2011 12:35:29 PM
Who knew you would make a japan thread
9/12/2011 12:39:07 PM

Did the government require all military folks to switch their name on Facebook?
5/2/2015 2:28:02 PM

5/2/2015 2:32:46 PM

5/2/2015 3:19:36 PM
^^ or 14, but who's counting?
5/2/2015 7:24:44 PM
We got the good ole "make your Facebook private" talk, but I've never heard of anyone being told to change their name, that's a first.
5/2/2015 7:53:59 PM
not much about it on the Web. I found this though...looks like military wives are changing their FB names toohttp://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/30/threats-prompt-new-security-warnings-for-military/18221137/
5/3/2015 11:34:05 AM
Military wives overreacting??? I'm shocked! This is the media overreacting to the normal directives from Command "be careful what you share, try not wear your service on your sleeve, etc"
5/3/2015 11:50:46 AM
^I think it's generally in good taste for everyone who's not a celebrity to make their Facebook page more private, secure and only accessible to friends and family.
5/3/2015 12:48:30 PM
I've noticed a bunch of military wives switching to Firstname Middlename. I'm not nearly that paranoid. So I'll clearly be the first one ISIS takes out.
5/3/2015 3:34:41 PM
RIP Skwinkle
5/3/2015 3:43:11 PM
They probably change their name, then still post stupid shit publicly. So safe.
5/3/2015 3:43:25 PM
