I'm building a gaming rig and have purchased the following:XFX HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870Intel i5 2400 LGA1155Case - Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129097I'm trying to decide on a mobo. I've had mixed results with MSI and pretty good experience with Gigabyte. What are the real differences between Z68 and P67 chipsets? Any recommendations on mobos?I was thinking about one of these: http://tinyurl.com/438hpcxMy case has 4 fans with an optional 5th so I'm trying to find a board with 5 fan connectors but not having much luck. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I'm trying to stay under $180.[Edited on July 28, 2011 at 4:54 PM. Reason : url too long]

toms hardware did a whole thing on this but their internal search is so shitty I couldn't find it.the Z68 express was supposed to be the best of both I thinkhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-z68-express-smart-response-technology-ssd-caching,2938.html[Edited on July 28, 2011 at 8:38 PM. So from reading that article, the Z68 express chipset is clearly the better choice. Thanks for posting that.Any suggestions on a mobo?

There's subtle differences between the P and the Z chipsets. Think of the Z68 as the P67+. If you are going to get a new mobo, makes more sense to invest in the Z chipset but the P's will work just fine.

You don't need to have 5 fan connectors on the mother board unless you want feedback and fan control for ALL of them.
