According to Twitter, Owen Spencer will sign with the Tennessee Titans

I am really hoping to see Jarvis Williams catch on somewhere.

Tulloch gets some love from Grantland

Quote :
"Stephen Tulloch is a middle linebacker cut from a different cloth than the other middle linebackers on the market, Barrett Ruud and Paul Posluszny. While Ruud and Posluszny are built to defend the medium zones in pass defenses, Tulloch is a bruiser who does his best work against opposing run games. He has some issues as a tackler. Opposing players broke 14 of his tackles last season, the highest rate in the league among linebackers. Rumors have linked him to the revolution fostered by former Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz in Detroit. Denver could also target him as part of its defensive rebuild."

Would be pretty cool to see Tulloch and Irving playing together, although they'll still be getting torched by Phil.

i guess technically McCargo is an UFA, but i wouldn't expect to see him surface anywhere. everywhere he played he was criticized for a horrible work ethic.

I've always been surprised that Manny Lawson never really caught on anywhere. Have injuries been the issue, I wonder?

Lawson is a A+ athlete but a B- football player. He needs to find a team where he can come in on 3rd downs and focus 100 percent on getting to the passer. Asking him to stop the run is a losing proposition.

Manny Lawson will likely always have a job for the simple fact that he can block FG's and punts.

The Chargers might go after Lawson.

He's considered one of the best FA pass-rushers available, despite his pedestrian stats so far. There just aren't enough speed rushers to go around in this league.

just saw some news about Leroy Harris

Quote :
"The Titans have reached out to free agent LG Leroy Harris in hopes of re-signing him.
"Other teams are in the mix as well," reports Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. The Titans like Harris' potential, but he was a problem -- not a solution -- in the team's run blocking woes last year. They just don't have a better alternative. "

Quote :
"Irving signs 4-year deal with the Broncos

By Aaron Schoonmaker

Former NC State linebacker and 2011 3rd round pick of the Denver Broncos has agreed to terms on a contract.

The Denver Post is reporting the contract is a 4-year deal but did not say how much the deal is worth.

Irving was the last of nine Denver draft picks to sign. He was in Denver to sign the contract this afternoon and has already put the helmet on and is on the practice field.

Irving was a semifinalist for the Butkus award in 2010 which honors the nation's top linebacker, but was beat out by Von Miller. Irving will now be teammates with Miller who was the first-round pick by the Broncos.

Denver Broncos legend and new Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway said after the draft, "He is a guy that has great, great instincts inside and really knows how to get to the football.""

^It just did.

1-year, $3 million dollar contract? Damn, he's fallen a long way from being a first-round pick. It's tough to see where he fits into the Bengals 4-3 D, too. Is he only going to play on passing downs?

Both the Panthers and Chargers need a solid #2 receiver. I would love to see either team go after J-Cotch if he's available for cheap or cut by the Jets. The bad news is that Cotchery is coming off back surgery and his worst year since 2005. Oh well, maybe that means he can be signed for cheap.

Re-unite Cotchery and Rivers!

I'd say the surgery is the biggest factor for J-Co being traded. His production dropped because he was hurt and because he was on a team with a lot of targets. Run-first offense and then behind Edwards and Holmes. Not to mention Sanchez loved him some Keller.

I'd love to have him on the Panthers or Chargers. How about M. Floyd to the Panthers and J-Co to the Chargers.

Lawson will probably start as the strong-side linebacker for the Bengals in their 4-3, they have confidence that he can run with tight ends despite being so big.

Rex Ryan said Cotchery asked to be cut or traded. A lot of the Jets players had great things to say about him after they heard about his release. I hope he signs with the Chargers or Panthers or someone I can generally root for. I hated hoping he'd do well while also hoping the Jets lost by 50 each game.

Middle linebackers, who have been squeezed out of a market that places an increasing amount of value on defensive ends and defensive backs. Paul Posluszny was smart enough to sign a long-term deal with Jacksonville before demand collapsed, leaving Barrett Ruud and Stephen Tulloch with little negotiating leverage. The Buccaneers didn't even bother to negotiate with Ruud, who took a one-year deal to move into the starting lineup of the Tennessee Titans.

Ruud's move to Tennessee took away Tulloch's starting gig. Early in the free-agent period, he had reportedly been offered a multiyear contract with a $10 million signing bonus to join former Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz in Detroit. He turned it down. After Ruud's signing, Tulloch returned to the Lions, hat in hand, and got a one-year deal worth $3.25 million."
