Expires tomorrow at midnight. This one is going to be way worse than the NFL and has the potential to be long and ugly. One thing is for sure is that owners won't be paying but a fraction of the guaranteed money that is in the current deal.

This sucks because you could make the case that the NBA is as hot as it has been since Jordan retired right now.
6/29/2011 8:17:39 PM
Lets do a pool: Guess the number or games that are played next seasonClosest gets a years non-premium membership to TWWI'm saying early Decemberish....60 games
6/29/2011 8:18:03 PM
Barkley thinks the whole season will be lost
6/29/2011 8:19:06 PM
And as soon as he registers on TWW, I'll give a fuck
6/29/2011 8:20:21 PM

6/29/2011 8:28:17 PM
Brandon Marshall said awhile back that if there was an NFL lockout he would play in the NBAWonder if any NBA players are gonna try their hand at the NFL if there is no season
6/29/2011 8:33:46 PM
I'm sure there's no provision against that in their contracts
6/29/2011 8:36:02 PM
Rose would be a ridiculous running back.
6/29/2011 8:36:20 PM
Who caresThe NBA sucksNo defenseBlack peopleNCAA Tournament
6/29/2011 8:38:20 PM
wonder if Amare or Nene would make a better linebacker
6/29/2011 8:41:57 PM
ibLebron
6/29/2011 8:45:48 PM
Lebron would be a beast, just don't count on him to kick a clutch field goalWade would pull his clit muscle in the first quarter]
6/29/2011 8:46:46 PM
No NBA player would even be a part time NFL player without at least 12 months of dedicated training. Thinking someone could just waltz onto the field is silly.Conversely, several NFL players could probably play in the NBA without much training. People play pick up basketball. People don't play pickup football with guys who run a 4.4 and can bench a Hyundai.
6/29/2011 8:51:02 PM
Steve Nash for kicker
6/29/2011 8:53:36 PM

6/29/2011 8:58:23 PM

6/29/2011 9:00:04 PM
allen iverson seems too short to play QB ... but relative to the NFL, i guess other QBs are shorter
6/29/2011 9:05:56 PM
Allen Iverson is one of the freakiest athletes ever
6/29/2011 9:25:36 PM
Iverson, Desean Jackson and Carl Crawford probably could have been all stars in any of their sports. And don't get me started on soccer. I'm convinced that if it was "cool" for urban black youths to play, we would the buttfuck the World Cup every time.
6/29/2011 9:28:37 PM
I'll bet your boy Chris Johnson can cross over some busters on the hardwood
6/29/2011 9:30:14 PM
Yeah I think its like the 5'10"-6'1" really quick guys who could run shit as a point guard, cornerback or center fielder.
6/29/2011 9:32:48 PM
Bring back the ABA
6/30/2011 9:17:19 AM
Owners complaining that barely any teams are making money. Meanwhile, the Warriors were sold for what, $400-500MIf it's truly that hard to make money owning a basketball team, wouldn't teams with no history of success be sold for a little bit less than half a billion?
6/30/2011 11:57:28 AM
Can we just drop it to 16 teams and two leagues.

^^^ AI was a beast in high school, i believe he is still considered the best high school football player in VA history..he probably could have translated to the NFL if he wanted to, he was a good enough QB. and he is the same height as Michael Vick =/[Edited on June 30, 2011 at 3:18 PM. I guess I'm just so efficient that I can lose money without paying $texas to do so
6/30/2011 4:03:00 PM

6/30/2011 4:24:43 PM

Hickson to Sactown as the last deal under the old CBATrivia answer down the road
6/30/2011 4:55:52 PM
ah man...the Kings are terriblemaybe he can be the bright spot on that team, seems like he's steadily turning into a pretty good PF
6/30/2011 4:58:15 PM
I actually played pickup bball with CHris Johnson. He was awful. We saw John Wall's attempt at throwing a baseball.
6/30/2011 8:42:58 PM
my prediction:
6/30/2011 9:28:16 PM

Wonder what Mike has to say about this whole thing having been on the player side in the last go round and no being an owner.
7/1/2011 2:20:17 AM
He wasn't really involved last timeHe said fuck it and retired again
7/1/2011 9:01:26 AM

I think there's a ~65% chance they miss the season but if they do work something out I think it'll be a 50 game season. The owners basically took a business risk investing a lot more money into their business right before a massive economic recession. Now they are asking the players to finance their losses. Players only have a set number of years to make money while the owners have decades to recoup their losses.Player salaries are fixed at 57% of revenues so they have only grown at the rate league revenues have grown. The owners however have increased their team expenses 5x faster by making huge investments in their franchises right before all the corporate endorsements came to a screeching halt. The one thing the owners are correct to put a stop to are the sign and trades and the 5 year guaranteed contracts that the players have proven they will abuse. Vince carter, eddy curry, Jerome James, etc

Looks like Deron Williams has fired the first shotYour move, David Stern

It's a smart idea. There is no better way to stay in shape and get paid until the deal is made. Someone on sports radio (I think Petros and Money) were discussing Kobe's popularity in China and how he could go over there for a few months and make $Beijing.
7/7/2011 5:16:18 PM
Didn't know where to post this, but Yao is retiring
7/8/2011 2:46:31 PM
That's been expected for a couple of years now. It's pretty common for exceptionally big men. His stats, for someone that big, have been remarkable. Usually that height gets you Shawn Bradley numbers (lots of blocks, not many points, not many min.).
7/8/2011 2:52:16 PM
he made a killing from endorsements in China, and probably still will. no need to risk your ability to walk when you've got bank like Yao.
7/8/2011 2:55:38 PM
doesnt the Chinese government get like 80% of his earnings
