The best vodka you'll ever have!Curious what everyone's favorites are even with the limited local selection. My regular is Citadelle but its in and out of stock so I'll bounce between Plymouth and Broker's. I find Hendrick's to be overrated for the price (like GreyGoose, great but not worth it). I absolutely hate Tanqueray, like nails on a chalkboard for some reason. As for some different stuff, there is a gin made in Kings Mountain NC, called Cardinal, that picked up from the North Raleigh ABC. It was better than I expected but very floral/perfume-y. The trendy one now is no. 209 out of SF. Its great but pricey.

Bombay Sapphire is my go-to gin but I definitely enjoy Hendrick's. If a drink is going to cost the same price I will usually go with Hendrick's.

I'm not a gin snobI'll drink Beefeater or Tanqueray and be quite content

Especially with all the new options, the choice of gin depends upon the drink and personal taste. Tanqueray is very, very heavy-handed with the juniper, but I like that for a gin and tonic. If you are adding ice and sweetening with tonic water, the more subtle botanicals in something like Bombay Sapphire get a bit lost.

^^^ Is that gin available at any Raleigh ABC stores? I just want something new.Has anyone experimented with making your own tonic? Doesn't sound that difficult and I like the idea of tailoring it to personal taste. Plus, then I could just buy a soda water system and never be out of tonic. Here was the first I had seen of it:http://www.jeffreymorgenthaler.com/2008/how-to-make-your-own-tonic-water/

there's a function on the website that allows you to search the nearest store. i think from raleigh, it's somewhere in virginia. keep it in mind if you're traveling north of nc. it's definitely the best gin i've ever had.but yeah my everyday gin is beefeater's

My everyday gin is Seagram's. My palate may be unrefined, but it is smooth to me and makes a fine gin and tonic in my estimation. The smooth taste in the bumpy bottle

I usually drink Broker's.

Cardinal! It's made in NC and is definitely one of my favorites. Number 2 would be Boodles.http://www.wncmagazine.com/blog/taste_of_wnc/cardinal_gin_southern_artisan_spirits

Hendricks gin is the best.

Bombay Sapphire for martini's, Tanqueray with tonic. Citadelle was never a big hit for me.

^^ Hendricks ftw

gin is definitely a liquor that I do not mind paying a premium for. Sure, Hendricks could stand to be a few dollars less but the way I drink cocktails these days the bottles last a decent amount of time

Let me get a shout out to Seagram's GinCuz I drink itAnd they paying me for it

I'm a Tanqueray man myself. TandT's when I go the gin route. Use Farmer's Botanical Gin when making gin cocktails.

I have to agree that Bluecoat is my favorite gin.
