I have Sprint's Airrave at the house and it's pretty swank. 5 bars of 3g makes a significant difference in battery life over 1 bar.

I thought AT&T supplied these for free if you live in an area with consistently shitty coverage? i dunno, maybe I misread or misheard something.

My coverage is not bad where I live. Its bad where I work and play. I want it so during the week I can have it at my office, and when I go to Lake Gaston on the weekend, I can plug it into my aunt's broadband and get service at the lake.
6/20/2011 11:55:18 AM
I remove my offer. I was able to get one from AT&T for about $40 after discounts after complaining about service in my area.
6/20/2011 12:34:35 PM
These things only work with a stable broadband connection. And at least with Sprint, a little social engineering + shitty cell coverage will yield one free of charge with the 5.00/mo fee waived.Optionally, you can pay 10.00/month and not use your anytime minutes while using voip.
6/20/2011 1:18:22 PM
pro tip, you aren't going to be able to just take it on the go with you as there's a gps sensor that only allows them to be used where activated.
6/20/2011 11:15:14 PM
You only get one these per account. If you want another, you have to pay full retail. So if you're on a company/family account and someone already has one, the other people cannot get one for free.

^^That's what I thought too, but I used a Southern Pines zip for the coverage problems and when my brother moved to Wilmington, I set it up in Greenville. I think you have a little bit of play in the location.^Very good point. I'd like to have one in my office as well as at home.

Works just fine at home and works just fine when I drag it to the office 30 miles away.
