06 acura tl. 235/45-17

put on some potenzas and they haven't lasted nearly as long as i think they should've. she doesn't drive very spirited at all. just recommend a tire that will be relatively quiet, last a lot of miles, and will be halfway decent in snow.

had a nail hole patched recently and the guy recommended a set of hankook ventus h405 for $120 each. suggestions?

those are the tires im putting on my 540 this week but I'm getting them at $104/tire + $40 rebate installed with a warranty a discount tire. they held up pretty well considering the worn suspension and bad alignment I had for a while. got a little over 10k out of them with 2 in decent shape still and very spirited driving.

what kind of miles should i expect out of tires for this thing? 10k sucks.

i'm used to 40 or 50k on light truck tires. don't really know much about these low profile pieces of shit.

Not sure if they come in the size you're after but I bought some Yokohama S4 Advan tires about 20k ago (a6 avant) that Ive been happy with and seem to be wearing well. They were great in the winter (Cincinnati), so no worries there. My only complain would be that there is slightly more road noise than the stock Pirellis, but the handling/ride/etc all make it worth it. I believe these are also the new tires that comes on the A7 (not to get all fanboy on you).

I hear the Conti Extreme DWS (or something like that) are pretty fantastic if theyre in stock (anywhere, really).

Falken FK452

I've seen them go with out being rotated for a while and not chopping out. As long as you keep up with the air pressurethey are decent. Just don't expect to be goin arount the tail of the draggon and keeping up with motorcycles.
With that car being as thin and stiff like all hondas you will hear your share of road noise.

"Conti Extreme DWS "

I have a set on the front of the wife's IS250. It's a pretty good tire. Compared to the original Bridgestone Turanza ER33, the DWS has more sidewall flex in hard cornering. My wife doesn't do spirited driving, where-as I do on occasion. The DWS was a much better tire in the light ice/snow we got this past year than the Turanza, has a 50k lifespan, and is only ~$115/ea. My front tires wore out at 22k miles. We've got almost 7k on the DWS and overall, I'm impressed. Little sign of wear on the tires. Once the rear Turanza are worn, I'll be buying a set of DWS for sure to replace it. Great economy bargain with above average sportiness, especially if it's for a family sedan or DD and not an enthusiast car.

I got them on a sale from Tire Rack. Checking the price now, it looks like they are:

Front: 225/40ZR18
Price: $142.00 (each)

Rear: 255/40ZR18
Price: $217.00 (each)

Shipping for 2 was about $30 last time IIRC...

they're very quiet. pretty much silent compared to the potenzas. i thought they handled fine, but my wife (she drives it every day) says she doesn't think they gripped as well. i'll gladly sacrifice that for longer tire life, so hopefully they'll last longer.

No I got the hankook ventus h405. They're very quiet. We'll see how tread life is with them.

Reading comprehension [FAIL] >_<, but I would like your impression with those in regards to snow... Doesn't look too helpful
