HBO-litewill watch anything AMC does from now on[Edited on May 3, 2011 at 10:44 PM. Reason : lol, just noticed I said the same thing in The Killing thread]
5/3/2011 10:42:05 PM
i'm pretty sure that's John Marston walking in that picture, though I don't understand why he hasn't just whistled for his horse
5/3/2011 10:42:32 PM
Sounds pretty badass, I'll have to tune in! Though I'll be impressed if its anywhere near as good as Deadwood.(RIP Deadwood )
5/4/2011 9:08:52 AM
it is nearly impossible for anything on basic cable to compete with deadwood... simply because they were able to use such violence (both classic and sexual), language, and lewdness to show how gritty the west really was (or how we want to imagine it being) - regardless, basic cable can't compete with that
5/4/2011 11:45:37 AM
^ yeah but Breaking Bad's doing a damn good job of showing the drug world without being able to go to Wire-esque type levels
5/4/2011 12:45:41 PM
^precisely my thoughts on the matter.
5/4/2011 1:47:41 PM
I liked this show quite a bit when it was called Deadwood. Also, The Walking Dead was actually pretty weak overall...so AMC hasn't shown me much.[Edited on May 4, 2011 at 1:50 PM. Reason : ]
5/4/2011 1:49:23 PM
They have more shows than Walking Dead. You may have heard of them before.
5/4/2011 1:52:57 PM
Mad Men and Breaking Bad alone pretty much mean I will check out anything AMC does from now on.
5/4/2011 2:26:23 PM

When does this premier?
5/9/2011 10:03:02 PM
the premiere date hasn't been announced yet, but it will be sometime in the fall, likely paired with The Walking Dead
5/9/2011 10:33:42 PM
Premiere set for November 6th after The Walking Dead. Also this tweet from press tour amused me:

Fuck this is a Sunday! My DVR might not be able to record all the Sunday night awesomeness
10/4/2011 8:01:10 AM
^shit I might have the same problem.
10/4/2011 2:41:41 PM
^After my initial panic...I thought about it and I think that AMC is usually good about airing encores after their premiere block...if not then Showtime and HBO definitely are.
10/4/2011 3:29:57 PM
Bump for the premiere on Sunday. I heard the pilot was a mess, but perhaps they've worked out some of the issues in the interim. The thread title could go from sincere to sarcastic very quickly.
10/31/2011 2:21:22 PM
Bump for this evening @ 10 pm.very much looking forward to this.
11/6/2011 6:05:50 PM
I'll check it out
11/6/2011 6:11:06 PM
i turned it off 10 mins inlooks like gritty clint eastwood wannabe anti-hero vs indians vs evil railroad guy Miles O'brienbeam me up
11/6/2011 11:43:58 PM
Yeah, I just realized why I connected them. My bad.[Edited on November 7, 2011 at 12:21 AM. Reason : ]

it's always hard to judge a show after just the pilot, so i'll give it some time to develop.10 minutes is definitely not enough time to judge a show.i'll watch anything with scalping and throats getting cut, it kept me entertained enough for an hour.
11/7/2011 1:36:25 PM
I want to like this show. I like the time period and plot. But after seeing the ad for it. No thanks. Looks terrible.
11/7/2011 2:01:38 PM
^judge books by their cover much?
11/7/2011 2:03:26 PM
you like the time period and plot, but an ad scared you away?

the old guy that hires Bohannon...don't know if they ever even gave him a name, and at this point it's obvious he's not coming back, but that actor was Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs. He's got a top 10 creepy voice.
11/7/2011 10:34:08 PM
^ Thank you, that was bugging me all episode where I knew that guy from.
11/8/2011 6:08:05 AM
Pissed that we won't see more of him (Ted Levine), I've always liked that actor.I enjoyed the show, feels like a good follow-up to Walking Dead. It's a drama, but it feels a little lighter than TWD.
11/8/2011 7:36:56 AM
Chink's in the rails. Oh wait.
11/8/2011 10:29:49 AM
The pilot was better than I thought it would be but it still definitely feels like a pale imitation of Deadwood. Colm Meaney isn't doing his best work here. [Edited on November 8, 2011 at 1:04 PM. Reason : .]

11/9/2011 3:44:46 AM
I thought the pilot was strong... I look forward to the next episode where I think we will really get a feel for the series as a whole.
11/9/2011 9:00:32 AM
I've watched the pilot three times now.The third time, I paid attention. I liked it.
11/13/2011 3:18:32 AM
I still need to watch this
11/13/2011 8:48:36 AM
BUMP
11/14/2011 9:45:22 AM
i like this Swede character
11/14/2011 1:23:08 PM
yeah the Swede is pretty awesome. Also those indians were like something out of a movie from the 30s, one of them actually said "counting coup", in english no less.
11/14/2011 9:16:35 PM
The way they're depicting the Indians is, uh, interesting. They're really freakin scary.[Edited on November 15, 2011 at 1:11 PM. Reason : sss]

I got so bored in the second episode I just stopped and saved to watch for later
