i'm trying to upload a fb profile pic I created using MS Paint (bitmap) and the only two colors are black and blue, but after fb loads it, it looks more like black and purple...it's really annoying and i wanted it to remain the exact same color as the original....??

try saving it as a PNG in mspaint instead of bitmap. if you're uploading a bitmap to facebook they probably convert it to PNG and they're messing up the color

i tried that, i even tried "save as web" but it seems facebook applies some kind of compression

srly? ms paint? get yourself GIMP. Its free and basically Photoshop 7. Make sure your color space is sRGB. Compression only reduces picture quality and increases artifacts, it does not change colors unless you are using a non web based color space. Depending how the system takes the photo in, it can try to convert it and fail, or the web browser just doesn't display the colors since most are in sRGB when displaying graphic files because its a web standard.
