Considering that in the link you provided, Tiger Direct is advertising a 2 TB HDD for $79.99, you may want to consider being flexible on the price.

$65 on buy.com

i love tww for the classifieds section...you motherfuckers are ruthless.
4/22/2011 1:25:29 AM
Someone trying to price 2TB worth of space at $150 is just stupid.
4/22/2011 7:08:58 AM
^^ if I wanted to sell at or over full price I'd stroll into a best buy

Normally I'd jump on the pile here, but these drives are server class drives, not your standard consumer grade drives, and theyre new (supposedly in the box). Newegg sells em for $140 new (with 5 year warranty), and $87 re-certified (with no warranty). If you're building out a server and value your data, this looks like a pretty good deal.[Edited on April 22, 2011 at 10:03 AM. synapse,Thanks for the reply. These are brand new drives, but they come in the static wrapper. Not in boxes. They were bought in bulk and I paid just over $100 each. I will offer a warranty on these for 1 year from the date of purchase. If they crash within a year (and there's no physical damage) I'll replace them free of charge. ETA: If someone comes with $140 cash they can have them both.
4/22/2011 11:06:31 AM
dude you have <100 postsyour personal warranty doesn't mean shitare they still under factory warranty?the amount of factory warranty left should be the deciding value factor, not a 'personal guarantee'.
4/22/2011 11:27:32 AM
hahaI PERSONALLY GUARANTEE
4/22/2011 12:27:50 PM
Well in that case scratch the warranty. $140 for the pair, and ya'll just fucked yourself out of the warranty. The company I buy them from gives me a 1 year warranty on all bulk hard drives. They are covered through me for a year whether you want them to be or not....
4/22/2011 1:18:15 PM
But why even buy a server class HDD? A regular 1 TB HDD is still buckets cheaper and cheap enough to toss and replace if it dies (not to mention they almost always come with a 1 yr warranty that doesn't require you having to go through someone). My concern with HDDs isn't the warranty, it's the lost data if/when they die. I understand that this is rated as a server class HDD. So instead of just saying it's "server class," which when it comes to HDDs means nothing to me, I think you may want to offer up an explanation as to what sets it a part from a normal consumer grade HDD.

^ But why? I'm really not trying to troll or anything. What is it about these drives that commands such a high price? Are they more reliable? The electric motor lasts longer? The head is more reliable?

4/29/2011 9:52:19 PM

5/6/2011 9:00:52 AM

5/7/2011 5:29:47 PM

5/8/2011 1:13:04 PM
I'll start the bidding at $20.[Edited on May 8, 2011 at 3:04 PM. Reason : .]
5/8/2011 3:04:29 PM
hell of a deal.
5/8/2011 6:22:06 PM
I have an offer of $100 for both drives. Haven't heard back from the person but the first $100 gets them both.
5/8/2011 7:26:16 PM
Seriously? This is 2 drives for less than the price of 1. Somebody pick this shit up.
5/9/2011 7:49:01 PM
good luck dude. If there's anything I've learned about tdub classifieds its this: Take what you think the value is of whatever it is you're selling, and if you get 40% of that you're lucky.
5/9/2011 8:05:32 PM
^ meh. $100 for both of those drives is a great deal. he'll get that no problem. and your metric is fucked as he's already got an offer for 66% of his original asking price.
5/9/2011 10:36:40 PM
Will trade for a NIB Core 2 Duo or cheaper Quad Core Processor. Will also trade for a nice Middy Tower with a nice PSU. Possibly a motherboard as long as it's Asus or MSI. Prefer socket 775 for the cheaper builds. Will consider any new components in trade depending on what you have.
5/10/2011 10:06:50 AM
I'd give you $60 for one of them...assuming I can use them to back up my pictures/documents/etc. This sounds like a nicer unit than I need, but if the price is right...
5/10/2011 10:33:29 AM
^ for your $60 (keeping your needs in mind) i'd get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145304]
5/10/2011 1:02:04 PM
I'd really like an external hard drive so that I can back up multiple computers on it.
5/10/2011 1:08:48 PM
^^^ PM Sent. I'll do 1 for $60. It might be more than you need, but you won't have to worry about it crashing. You can get a nice case at CompUSA for $6 and make it a pretty fucking awesome external drive.
5/10/2011 5:27:38 PM
Several no-shows. Not willing to drive and meet anywhere. First come/first served at $100 for the pair.
