Starting in about 3 hours. Eyes on Ryan Hall and Kara Goucher as the USA's top runners.

Running is not a sport
4/18/2011 7:51:03 AM
yes it is, and I'm also looking at Ryan Hall and Kara Goucher to see how they do.

I'm going to enjoy watching everyone run, but I'll have my eye on two runners in particular; Ryan Hall and Kara Goucher.[Edited on April 18, 2011 at 9:17 AM. Reason : x]

I'm looking at Kara Goucher becuase she's fucking hot.

The only real downside to banging a distance runner is that they struggle to maintain any muscle mass whatsoever, so it always feels like you're fucking Gumby. That and the feet. Steer clear if your into feet.

My running buddy is doing this today. His PR is 3:04 and he is trying to break 3:00.I am interested to see if any new americans are gonna break through and surpass Hall as the golden boy of this age.[Edited on April 18, 2011 at 9:53 AM. Reason : gf]

http://twitter.com/#!/universalsports/status/59990552950747137Looks like Hall is leading out too early. You don't break world records at Boston.
4/18/2011 10:53:49 AM
^ he seems to always do that. All or nothing type of guy.
4/18/2011 11:05:45 AM
I'm standing at the 10 mile mark, I'll post pics later.

^^ Last year he ran a very different race. Said he planned out his race and pacing and then he actually lost contact with the leaders several times as they surged. Ended his time would have broken the boston course record, just so happened that someone else shattered the course record.American woman with second place by only 3 seconds. desiree davila. nice[Edited on April 18, 2011 at 11:59 AM. friend finished in 3:17. Must be a hard course!
4/18/2011 1:32:45 PM
yep. very hilly and hard to pace right apparently. Although it is overall downhill which is why today's world record doesn't get booked.
4/18/2011 1:47:26 PM
There's a section called Heartbreak Hill that puts a lot of people down. Definitely a hard course. Anybody know what the weather was like? My dad ran it about 6 or 7 years ago and it was up in the 80's, brutal.

Conditions had to be pretty good to see such fast times. Ryan Hall beat last years course record, but came in 4th. I read somewhere that there was a tailwind which helped to account for the speed.

the best at exercising
4/18/2011 1:59:31 PM
Get outta here with that. You can't possibly convince yourself that some fat, out of shape NFL lineman or NBA big man is a fraction of an athlete that Ryan Hall is. Or Lance and Cullen jones for that matter.

Terrence Cutler: When I heard you were gonna be subbing here I almost lost my mind. Kenny Powers: Well that's good for you. Terrence Cutler: There's something you need to know, Kenny. You're not the only athlete here at Jeff Davis. I happen to be training for a Triathlon right now. Doin' a lot of running, and cycling, swimming. Well you know all about that. Kenny Powers: No actually I don't. I do SPORTS. Not try to be the best at exercising. jeepin beat me to it

From the 10 mile mark when Ryan Hall was leading:
4/18/2011 7:36:53 PM
