If you know of any hole-in-the-wall hotels/motels in Raleigh post them here. I need a cheap room for only one night this weekend and dont want to spend $50-80 for a room at a "decent" hotel.
4/13/2011 8:13:53 PM
The Red Roof Inn on Walnut street is really cheap.
4/13/2011 8:16:57 PM
The Capital Inn, Kings Motel, Milner Inn.How dodgy are you willing to go or is price the only factor?
4/13/2011 8:17:18 PM
how many hours do you need this for? 1 or 2?
4/13/2011 8:38:00 PM
i think i'd just sleep in the car
4/13/2011 8:52:12 PM
The price is the only factor. I mean, I don't want to be killed while I sleep though. That being said, my stay will be more than 2 hours. Basically only long enough to get a nights rest.

A few months ago an RPD homicide cop was telling me about a grizzly suicide at the Milner Inn.
4/13/2011 9:11:23 PM
Thanks a lot dude
4/13/2011 9:15:14 PM
Just called Red Roof Inn on walnut and its $56 even after my state employee discount
4/13/2011 9:16:34 PM
There has to be a Motel 6 somewhere around there.[Edited on April 13, 2011 at 9:54 PM. Reason : watch out for bed bugs]

I have stayed at the Red Roof Inn on S Saunders for a night before. I think it was ~40 bucks, but this was 3 or 4 years ago. I did not get shot, and its a really short drive after you pick the girl up
4/13/2011 10:01:05 PM
I've called several places and I guess places have just simply went up. There were days when you could get a decent room for $30-35 but I guess those days are gone oh well. Thanks anyways guys and gals, guygals and galguys
4/13/2011 10:24:48 PM
there is a Days Inn on the north side of downtown. looks pretty cheap
4/13/2011 10:39:01 PM
^Just called Days Inn off Dawson. Ironically it was t[b]he most expensive one I called tonight.

4/13/2011 11:04:44 PM
I'm sure you could pay some kind wolfwebber 20 bucks to crash on their couchi'd offer but i don't know you like that and i got too much shit that ain't bolted downsomeone around here probably has little to nothing of value but a couch and a roof, i'd work that angle if you're really tryin to go cheap
4/13/2011 11:21:15 PM
aint no way you're finding a hotel for under 50 bucks a night in Raleigh after taxes. The damn taxes add on 12-15 bucks. That said, for a cheap ass hotel that I really like, hit up the Clarion downtown (its the round hotel). Right in the heart of things, and I usually get business rates there ~50 a night.
4/13/2011 11:28:32 PM
I stayed in the clarion on a whim one night. asked for the highest room they had and i think i paid $55solid. will whim again.
4/13/2011 11:29:49 PM
I got in a fight with my GF a few nights ago and was looking for like a $40 room...no such thing. I even went to south saunders st....the shitholes were just as much as a decent hotel in other parts of the city. I said fuck it and came home, the argument was only worth $40 or less. I did not call the milner inn, did you?
4/13/2011 11:37:54 PM
The red roof inn on s saunders didn't seem too bad until it got robbed Sunday morning at like 10am...don't think i'll be staying there anymore.[Edited on April 13, 2011 at 11:41 PM. Reason : i was there friday till sunday checkout]
4/13/2011 11:41:12 PM
Seriously, you will not find places cheaper than the ones I've listed.
4/13/2011 11:59:32 PM
^^^ you win this thread lol. The argument was worth $40 or less LOL. But Yeh, the cheapest I've heard tonight was $45, but you get $5 of that back at checkout don't ask me[Edited on April 14, 2011 at 12:02 AM. Reason : yo]

Hotwire has a 2star for 34 (44w/tax). You could probably get one under 30 on priceline.
4/14/2011 8:27:11 AM
I think priceline may be your best bet. I've saved quite a bit going through them. Though I've never used them for cheap motels though. I usually save ~50% off the nicer hotels though.

Where? Milner Inn or The Foxy Lady? When my husband was in high school, a friend of his had the graveyard shift at the Milner Inn on the weekends. He said he would see a friend of their's married dad every weekend w/ a girl from the Foxy Lady.[Edited on April 14, 2011 at 10:39 AM. Reason : f]

We used to throw hotel parties at the crappy Econo Lodge near Pleasant Valley. It was diet cheap then and purposely still is.
4/14/2011 10:55:37 AM
Just to let you know, this weekend there is a HUGE sports tournament in town. It might be hard for you to find a hotel at the last minutehttp://www.asgr.info/tournaments/dscg/index.php
4/14/2011 11:16:04 AM
There's a Motel 6 out near Crossroads. Not really Raleigh, but, it's in your price point.
