i know most people hate twitter, but i do know that qntmfred is on twitter sometimes, so he may be open to hearing me out on a suggestionwhen people on here type a twitter name like "@whatever", maybe it can autolink to "http://twitter.com/whatever" but just make the name a link, not add all the http stuff, so it would become @whateversince the awwwwww usually adds the link, it seems like it might be an easy thing to do?just make sure that it has to have a character other than a space after the @ character, so false links werent createdbut i do acknowledge that there could be an issue when people use the @ like "hey im going to go eat @4pm" ... the coding would make that a link to a site, which obviously wouldnt be wantedjust a thought, flame on twitter haters, or idea-shooter-downers

what if someone is giving out their email address and it ends in "@gmail.com" or something? maybe I just don't understand because I don't tweet or twat or whatever it's called.

As long as they don't type smath74 (space) @boybuttlovin.comIt wouldn't be a problem

i guess new tags could be made, toolike just put it in [twit]@twitterguy[/twit]figured it would be harder to add new buttons, but they dont have to be buttons, kinda like how works]

that is too much effort, of course we can do that
4/30/2011 10:40:30 PM
I mean its no button click, but for the limited use it isn't that hard. I guess I haven't really seen the demand for a dedicated button, but I don't spend too much time in sports talk.

what i was requesting wouldn't even require a button clickthe point of the thread was to just be able to tape @something and it turn into the link automaticallylike typing a URL [used to/maybe still does] already doyou can't argue that typing out
<.a href="http://twitter.com/somebody">@somebody<./a>

^^ this solution is provided by the link I posted earlier. no need to press a button, bro.[Edited on May 2, 2011 at 1:36 PM. Reason : javascript traverses the DOM and finds that shit on its own]
