Yeah no crap. That's a season 3 topic however.
3/27/2011 8:06:24 PM
WTF just happened? Anyone else watch the show tonight??
5/6/2011 10:10:47 PM
You might want to try posting in the season 3 thread instead of this one.

No discussion about last night's premiere? I kinda wonder who the guy was that seemed to be hiding his face when Olivia was taking Lincoln into the shared area. Seemed too deliberate to just be a random background guy. Also, I really hope they hurry up and bring Peter back. I'm not enjoying this alternate-alternate world when it's obvious that Peter will return and change everything back. Since this is most likely the last season, I'm really annoyed they are spending any amount of time on an alternate timeline that doesn't really seem to be going anywhere.]
9/24/2011 10:32:25 AM
Didn't see the guy hiding his face...interesting. I'm sure they will drag it out a little bit, but yeah I agree they do need to bring him back (probably will before the winter break, or whatever you call it in tv). I saw the premiere drew ratings that were only higher than 3 other episodes last season, which doesn't bode well for it surviving after this season. I wonder why the ratings haven't been solid for this show? Is it just above the head of the average viewer? Seems like most critics give the series positive reviews.

dont know how DVR affects TV ratings, but airing on a Friday night doesn't exactly set it up for as-it-airs viewing
9/26/2011 12:14:46 PM
friday night is where shows go to die
9/26/2011 1:09:45 PM
I wish they weren't still solving cases at this point. I mean sure, have something going on in the background, but I'm much more interested in the alternate universe and also WTF is going on. Don't throw in some random case as well. Especially since this case now brings in yet another shapeshifting race we have to keep track of Oh, and I guess they are using this as an excuse to re-write the series's history since so many plot holes were left wide open? Her partner didn't die in a weird plane wreck, she turned him in because he was possibly a double agent, and then after dying Massive Dynamic brought him back to life because he had information. Oh wait, never mind, that was before Biff gave young Biff the almanac. As much as I like this show, it's so frustrating that they just gloss over so many plot lines.I actually met one of the writers from "Lie to Me" this past summer and brought up this issue. His explanation was that most shows will cycle through writers and new writers will either a) have never really researched the show so they don't know the previous plot lines or b) didn't know where the original writers were going with something so they just drop it.
9/26/2011 1:31:24 PM
dont think she said her partner died in a plane wreck, but that he died while investigating it
9/26/2011 1:43:21 PM
I really liked tonight's episode, and the dynamic the show now has with both universes trying to work together really brings it to a new level.
9/30/2011 10:10:08 PM
^i agree. i think this is the first episode involving the alternates that i've actually liked. everything fit together really well. i hope this means the show is back on the upswing.

hardy har har @ their gas only being 99 cents on the other side
10/3/2011 1:44:40 PM
Too bad the ratings this past Friday were lower than the season premiere. I wonder how many people DVR the show/watch online? I still have yet to see it since I went to NC for the weekend, and being on Fridays has definitely killed the ratings. Hopefully we will get a nice resolution to the story if the network decides it won't survive past this season.
10/3/2011 2:46:02 PM
i need to see everyone interact with their others. like when broyles mentioned his counterpart, i want to see them have a stern voice-off
10/3/2011 3:21:18 PM
His counterpart was killed last season, so I'm thinking that won't happen (unless Peter uniting the universes somehow undid that).
10/3/2011 4:04:30 PM
^ it did. You see alternate broyles in the latest episode.I'm very frustrated how basically everything we've learned the past 3 years has now been undone.
10/3/2011 4:10:11 PM
yeah, only to likely be un-undone, as el nacho pointed out
10/3/2011 4:16:20 PM
At this point we're still guessing what has been done and un-done...kind of makes it interesting.I was definitely all WTF at Alter-Broyles being alive.Plus Liv killing her Step-dad instead of just shooting himI feel really bad for Walter in all this...I mean damn.Anyone else notice the Observer in the background of the hospital hall while Liv and Broyles wel talking?
10/3/2011 4:47:20 PM
I'm not positive that everything will be un-un done. Because if that's the case this season is pointless so far.
10/10/2011 7:58:36 PM
Shit just got real!I've grown to really like how we find out what about what we knew as Fringe history has changed. Pretty awesome that Nina was close to Olivia growing up (guardian after she killed her dad?).
10/15/2011 11:51:35 AM
the whole "walter you shouldnt have tested on kids" thing is getting a little tiredbut other than that, good episode, I lost track of time and thought the episode was over when Peter popped up in the lake (would have been a better cliffhanger, IMO)
10/17/2011 8:45:51 PM
^I think they're doing the YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TESTED ON KIDS to remind us in Season Four....that you shouldn't test on kids.
10/17/2011 9:26:34 PM
I don't think you can mention the Cortexifan (sp?) trials without judgment on Walter from other characters, but I think they brought it up to show how it went down differently in this new Fringe universe.
10/18/2011 7:38:16 AM
Last night's episode was one of the best hours of Sci-Fi in TV history.
4/21/2012 11:33:41 PM
Totally called that being his daughter...great episode.
4/21/2012 11:37:04 PM
I thought it was awesome. Apparently its a glimpse of where they plan to take the show next season, if we are lucky to have one. I was kind of confused on one minor detail. I thought Fringe Division was only in the alt universe. Since when was it named that in the primary one?
4/21/2012 11:40:06 PM
4/22/2012 12:01:28 AM
Well yeah I understand that, but from this past episode I remember seeing that Fringe Division logo plastered on the office walls. I don't recall seeing that in any of the "original" timeline.
4/22/2012 7:46:32 AM
Yeah, that was in the future though. I'd imagine they couldn't just have signs up in 2012 that say Fringe Division if it was still a semi-secret division of the government. But in 2036, that wouldn't be an issue.
4/22/2012 11:16:11 AM
Remember in the first jump forward many episodes ago, it wasn't as far as this episode...Fringe Division was public and had their own logos and uniforms
4/22/2012 7:16:06 PM
Coming back for a 5th & final 13 episode season!
4/27/2012 6:41:30 AM
I liked last week's episode, but how it intertwines with the other episodes doesn't make any sense. It's like it was a random episode.
4/27/2012 3:17:44 PM
^That comment seems doubly true after tonight's episode. Hopefully the 5th season will be all about the war with the Observers and maybe we will see Walter/Peter/Henrietta from 2036 figure out a way to time travel back to 2013 to warn them about the Observers. But I hate to think how they would have/are going to tie last weeks episode into the two remaining episodes this season.
4/27/2012 10:26:05 PM
Good, so it wasn't just me. I actually went online to make sure my dvr didn't skip an episode!
4/28/2012 3:58:46 PM
The last two episodes have started turning me off the show. I had the same thing happen with Heroes.
4/30/2012 1:43:34 AM
Pretty lackluster finale. I had read that they shot two different endings, one for if they got picked up for another season and one if they didn't. Obviously they ran the "cliffhanger" version, but if you simply took away the last 30 seconds, it would have made for an acceptable, although still mediocre series finale. I wonder what the other ending really did look like. Hopefully the 13 episodes next season will be all Observer war, all the time.
5/12/2012 2:11:45 AM
yeah nothing was happening. i looked at the clock with 20 minutes left and mentioned to my wife they'd better spice things up pretty quick. nope.
5/12/2012 9:50:34 AM
part of me was expecting Olivia's post-headshot self to have gone back to her other memories where she wasn't in love with Peter, when Walter was saying all the cortexiphan stuff had probably gone awaybut I had forgotten about their daughter being in that future episode the other week
5/12/2012 11:55:43 AM
I really miss the fringe science this show had in the first two seasons. I don't care about the Peter/Olivia love story, I just want to see some weird shit.
