Just curious how many there are on here that have graduated did so within 4 years. If not, how many years did it take and what was your major? If you havent do you expect to stick to your 4 year plan? Just did a degree planner thingy on mypack and it looks like my 4 yrs will in fact be 4.5 for ME. yes, this is sorta dumb. ok, go.[Edited on March 13, 2011 at 3:17 AM. Reason : ]

4 years CEtechnically 3 years for my MS (finished classes in 2 years, but due to the large amount of research, it has taken me an extra year to finish my thesis)

4.5 ECE (double major)I did a co-op, which extends graduation by a year. Otherwise, I guess I would have done it in 3.5.
3/13/2011 3:16:35 PM
4 years Textile Engineering with Statistics Minor
3/13/2011 4:11:06 PM
Started NCSU: Fall 2003Still working on that BS.
3/13/2011 4:38:27 PM
Started with a 4 year plan, ended up graduating in 5 with BS CHE after a co-op got thrown in there

I got a BS in Mathematics from IU in 3 years, after plenty of transfer credit and a busy first-year schedule.
3/14/2011 3:49:30 AM
8 semesters to get my BS in ME. no summer classes. transferred calc 1 & 2 and two humanities from community college i took during senior year of high school, which made it a lot easier.
3/14/2011 6:38:44 AM
4 years for my ME. No co-op though, just internships so it didn't affect my graduation time. I took a few summer classes here and there but nothing major. In between fresh + soph year I took sociology and history electives at a community college while working (the community college classes were a joke) and then I took statistics, film, and engineering ethics the next summer. Really wasn't too bad though. And to be honest, I didn't do them in order to graduate on time, I only did it to keep my semester hours down so it was easier to focus on the actual ME courses.[Edited on March 14, 2011 at 10:48 AM. 4 years in despite switching my major twice and coming in with no AP credits.
3/14/2011 11:31:10 AM
5 years for civil engineering with a co-op
3/14/2011 1:04:29 PM
5 years for 3 degrees in CSC, CPE, and EE along with 2 internships and TAing 2 labs (CSC 116 and E 115).4.5-5 years was pretty standard from what I saw, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you have decent grades and some work experience it's not like an employer is going to ask why you didn't do it in exactly 4.[Edited on March 14, 2011 at 1:34 PM. Reason : ]

^That seems crazy... why not just get ECE then a masters?
3/14/2011 1:39:34 PM
^Probably because I am a little crazy ... I'm getting my Masters now though... in statistics with a genetics concentration. The CSC wasn't that much more work outside of the normal ECE though, it was around 30 hours if you chose your electives right. It is a nice conversation topic in interviews because I inevitably get the "you got 3 degrees?" question.
3/14/2011 1:56:44 PM
6 years (9 semesters of class) for a BS in CSC + 5 co-op rotations.
3/14/2011 4:44:25 PM
5 years undergrad bsce (changed majors a couple times)4.5 years part time (1 class/semester) mce (non thesis)
3/14/2011 7:29:11 PM
Undergrad took 4 years, and I'll graduate in the standard 2 year plan with a master's degree this May. In undergrad I did some major switching, but I utilized summer sessions to stay on track.I've heard some students concerned about how long it is going to take to graduate if the new General Assembly's budget cuts to state colleges causes needed classes not to be offered as often. I wonder how that will play out.
3/15/2011 5:57:49 PM
BS: 4.5 yearsMS: 3.5 years (kinda embarrassed about this one... 2 year program, buuuuuuut I was working 50+ hours/week and only taking 1-2 classes/semester so I know I shouldn't feel as bad as I do)
3/17/2011 9:09:27 PM

BS AE: 4 years - came in with ~18 AP hours. No summer classes.MS AE: 4 more years (2 years of actual work + 2 years of "extended leave" (i.e., slacking off on finishing the paper))
3/20/2011 8:44:32 AM
BS AE: 4 years came in with 12 hours AP Credit I took 12 hours of summer school over 2 summers, took only electives (psych, polysci and the like! ABSOLUTELY THE WAY TO GO!!!)

Whats with the people that can afford to live 10 years on loans or a shit job? Your are part time right? For the love of god.
4/29/2011 3:10:10 AM
Entering sixth dual in ECE 1 summer, 1 semester internshipand hopefully again this summer.
4/29/2011 9:36:48 AM
Double BS major in 4 years with an internship each summer and 3 jobs held during the school year throughout my tenure, and 150 hours to meet the CPA edu reqs.I know it's bus/acc so it's much more doable than engineering. I probably spent, on average, 1-2 hours per day outside of classes doing stuff for school [Edited on April 29, 2011 at 11:50 AM. Reason : And forget that noise about studying on weekends psshh]
4/29/2011 11:50:15 AM
I finished in 4 years with a BS in Biological Sciences and a minor in Genetics and Music. I did take a lot of summer classes and full semesters though. Wasn't very easy. But now I get to come back for at least another 5 years!
5/1/2011 6:50:26 PM
4 years.2 Majors: Political Science and Spanish. Minor in Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic).
5/1/2011 10:28:19 PM
5 years BS ME, no co-op or other internship. Hit a dry spell in the middle where my life turned to shit and I had no ambition before hitting my stride and finishing strong. While I ended up getting a great job it's def fucked over my potential to get a masters in engineering anywhere.
5/1/2011 11:47:46 PM
BS in Statistics: 4 years (2005-2009)Master's in Advanced in Analytics: 1 year (2009 - 2010). Being 22 at the time with a Master's was kind of a good feeling.
5/2/2011 1:43:28 PM
^Congrats man. I hear you analytics kids come out making bank.
5/3/2011 12:05:54 AM
4.5 years - took one semester off to do a coop and then worked part time the rest - 8 semesters of class - BS in CSC
5/12/2011 7:23:13 AM
Started Fall 2006Graduated Spring 2011BA, SociologyBA, EnglishBA, Political ScienceI did some summer classes though. It's really not that bad, but those first 2 years really make it seem like it's going to take forever. You also don't realize just how much fun those tailgates, hillsborough hikes, late night panty raids, and halo sessions in the library are until you start talking all upper-level classes and you have a lot less free time.
