I was just contacted by udorawala, and apparently he is collecting $$ and supplies for a humanitarian relief package to send to Japan. He wants to know if TWW would be willing to donate?

It used to really irk me when my dad would ask me if I was okay after there was an earthquake in a completely different area of the country from where I was, even though I knew he meant well. One day I asked him if he was okay after there was a tornado in Kansas and he realized the significance of geography

Caught up with my friend:

Quote :

I felt the Earth.
Move.
Under my feet!

Seemed to shake for 2-3 minutes. Lateral movement amplified by being on the 6th floor, but seemed to be a few inches of sway at the worst. Definitely not easy to miss (at least while sitting down). Very odd sensation."

He says he was located about 250 miles from the epicenter.....

watching the live footage on CNN. You can still see waves coming in. It's a mess. Fortunately, there's a lot of farm land near there, or at least that's what they've said

and why is my boyfriend always in Hawaii during a tsunami warning

The oil refinery fire is HUGE.
And seeing that nasty mess of water wash across the land is crazy. There's boats and houses and fires floating across there.

8.9 is a massive earthquake. The Indonesian tsunamis were created by a 9.1-9.3, the third largest ever recorded.

The school I work at had a teacher from Sendai Japan come over as part of an exchange program... he recently went back to Sendai... Sendai is the place the videos keep showing being engulfed by the tsunami I hope that he is ok.
