All Tablet talk in here:I'm bummed that the Xoom is gonna be 800 clams, really want something with Android thats could be somewhere close to one of the low end iPads price wise.
2/8/2011 8:01:12 PM
There's an android thread and an ipad thread already so i doubt you'll get all tablet talk in here
2/8/2011 8:35:35 PM
I'll be interested to see the new ipad prices in a couple months. Do you think we'll see lower prices or just more GB/$?
2/8/2011 8:57:27 PM
^ the latter, likely missing a key feature (4G/LTE) that you'll want to upgrade to next year.
2/9/2011 9:29:45 AM
I'm really not worried about 4G/LTE as I will likely only get the wifi version, I would just like an upgraded screen and cameras.
2/9/2011 11:17:04 AM
^yeah I don't plan to get a cell plan with whatever tablet I end up getting, I'll just make sure to get a phone that can act as a hotspot when I do my next upgrade.

Palm just announced their tablet too:http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/02/09/say-hello-to-the-palm-touchpad/Between this, the Blackberry Playbook, iPad, multiple Android tablets, this is going to get a bit ridiculous.

The asus lines look pretty damn awesome. So, they're gonna need some way to pare down all these gadgets. A phone, kindle, tablet, and laptop is just too much.
5/13/2011 1:37:09 PM
Kindle app for your tablet...
5/13/2011 2:06:36 PM
5/13/2011 2:09:20 PM
A tablet is a smart phone for blind people that don't need to make phone calls. Or rather that's how I feel about tablets at least...Kindle & Tablet both are purpose-built... there's nothing on these devices you can't do with a smart phone and/or a laptop.
5/13/2011 3:21:42 PM
I'll go ahead and predict an epic failure for the cisco cius.
5/13/2011 3:24:54 PM
Highly likely

How about the Samsung Galaxy tablet?I played with one... seems pretty cool, like a "mini iPad". It is 7" diagonal. Can also make phone calls.
5/14/2011 2:15:31 AM
Its been posted elsewhere, but the barnes and noble Nook can be hacked very easily to run Android and/or Gingerbreak I think, giving you a $250 tablet. Not sure what all capablities it has but it can do internet and Flash along with download most Android apps.
5/14/2011 8:33:52 AM
I've got a family member that keeps bugging me about wanting to get a tablet. Thing is, he's super cheap and wants to spend as little money as possible. I told him his two best options were to buy a used iPad off craigslist or do the whole nook hacking thing with Android, but even those two options are more than he wants to spend. He's seeing these $100 tablets and keeps asking for my advice. I don't have any personal experience with them but every review I read says to stay as far away from them as possible. Are there any sub $200 options out there that aren't complete pieces of crap?]
5/18/2011 12:51:50 PM
Nope.
5/18/2011 1:31:12 PM
I've got an Archos 70. I really enjoy it. Android 2.2 and about 7-10 hours of battery. Depending on use it lasts me 2-3 days before having to charge. It's not quite a galaxy tab in build quality, but it's got more horsepower than the galaxy. Long story short I'm taking the plunge for a new blackberry and a playbook or switching to WebOS tab/phone once everything is launched and gets a good software update this summer. If I don't sell this tablet I'll be passing it along to my mom. She freaking loves checking facebook, reading email, and (most of all) showing photos off on it. Once you wire it into a NAS unit it's quite awesome. I've got it paired via homepipe and she can show off photos from anywhere with wifi without having to sync anything to the cloud (for privacy reasons.)

what is the android tablet that everyone is looking forward to? Im now in the market for an android tablet...played with the Asus A500 today at BB and it seemed decent. Is there a better tablet coming to the market soon?
5/22/2011 10:02:53 PM
Anyone got the Galaxy 10.1 Tablet?
6/30/2011 10:23:16 AM
why in the FUCK don't any of these tablets have OTA tuners in them? I would buy one if I could find one with a tuner, bluetooth, and gps or the ability to connect to a bluetooth gps. I would use it as the head unit in my car

Are the Ipad 2 and Galaxy still the 2 top choices? Anything coming out before the end of the year that could rival them? Gotta use up my company allowance by the end of December, figured I'd blow most on a tablet.
11/7/2011 10:49:49 AM
I think I'm getting one of these this Christmas:http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-prime/featuresNVIDIA Tegra 3 (Quad-core) with up to 10 hours of battery life... and most likely ICS. Looks promising.More details on November 9th (2 days)[Edited on November 7, 2011 at 11:22 AM. Reason : .]

Ok it's time. I want a tablet. Not really interested in waiting on an iPad 3 unless they release a smaller one with higher resolution screen. Been looking at the Galaxy Tab 8.9 or 10.1. Anyone have one? This is my first dive into Android.

^^ I won one in a raffle at work and have loved it so far. Battery life and performance may not be as awesome as some of the other tablets out there, but the pre-installed apps, additional ports and stylus make up for it. It comes in handy for meetings and stuff.I'm excited for this to come out. http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/14/exclusive-lenovo-to-release-a-10-1-inch-ice-cream-sandwich-tabl/[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 1:25 AM. It's the problem with reading tech blogs, everyone's looking to stir up stories so they can claim they 'called it' and inflate their egos even more.
