So i need a 4 pin firewire. That's cool.but does it install as a webcam or is that output just for transfer?

Just get a 1080p webcam. USB is going to be a lot easier to deal with than FireWire. And cheaper.Logitech and Microsoft both make awesome 1080p cameras for under 100 bucks

the device has a 4 pin firewire connection. you can use whatever a normal fw port on your comp. It may even come with the cable.
