I need to choose between 3 tv', my criteria was >50" and under $1k. Best Buy has great financing options so it looks like my options are. (The tv will be purchased through an LLC so I need to find 0% financing)55" Insignia LED LCD NS-L55X-10A for $89950" Samsung plasma PN50C550G1FXZA for $84750" Panasonic Plasma TC-P50S for $899I'm a little concerned about burn-in and image delay in the plasmas but the Insignia picture quality wasn't as good. Anyone have any of these three models?

Burn in hasn't been a problem with plasmas in years. And I do not know what image delay you are referring to with plasmas?!

what i was referring to was that i've heard that logos will temporarily burn in and may be noticeable for a few seconds before fading and disappearing

We have a 42 or 46" Panasonic Plasma. The colors, to me, are far better than on most LCD's.And burning in doesn't really happen. You might get a ghost for a second or so when some pixels stay the same color for a long time (for instance if I leave the roku on and walk away for 20+ minutes the top bars will ghost) -- but it clears in a few seconds at most. All the modern sets have computer controls that minutely flicker the pixels to prevent burn-in. The "burn in" effect occurs when an image is left imprinted near permanently. And just in case that happens by some random act they almost always have a flashing black/white checker pattern or roaming bar that will fix it within 5-10 minutes. As for delay or this 120hz gimick stuff - Can't go wrong with a plasma. Since there is no true "refresh" it doesn't have the problem.EDIT: if you're referring to rendering time (like the guitar hero delay settings) we have to set our panasonic a little more liberally than the LCD. But they have processing that matches the audio with the video - and great controls to delay the audio if you're using a home theater setup.[Edited on January 29, 2011 at 11:31 PM. Reason : .]

Just bought the 50" Panasonic S2 as a second screen on Wednesday and love it. I wanted to stick with Panasonic plasmas because I was (and still am) impressed with the 2007'ish 50" X60 model.
