just applied for next fall... wondering if anyone has gone through (or is going through) this program and applied for and received an assistantship or fellowship? was the aid worth it?

taking three classes and being a TA is a bit rough but very manageable. If you're not going to do any research, getting a fellowship or assistantship is very unlikely. You can always apply to be a TA but if you don't have any research going on or don't know any of the professors than you probably won't get it. Doesn't hurt to try though. And by the way im in the MSCE program currently. Also, i heard this guy called Paul Cousins has some old notes and h.w he's trying to give away , specifically for CE 515, CE 522, and CE 523 ( since this will be your first semester and you start in the fall these are the classes you will most likely be taking ) . Give him an email, paul_cousins@ncsu.edu , he'll be glad to help you out.

uhh, MSCE is research based is it not? non-research would be MCE.and if you're doing MSCE/research you better be getting paid and have tuition covered. if not, you're getting screwed.

^,^^if you're doing MSCE you will get funded, it takes minimal effort to find funding. I TA'd in a different concentration 1 semester until I got picked up on a research project for the rest of my masters.it is definitely worth it...not sure why it wouldn't be. I work pretty hard now but I know some of the guys are getting grossly overpaid compared to the amount of research and/or teaching they do each week.
