I'm not arguing he didn't say it in a list of things invented by Americans... I'm saying it's not on the same scale as the others. And if you google it, the phrase is already well documented, you shouldn't need a transcript to read the words, or the meaning behind them.

Edit: And your idea that it's not a lie because it hasn't happened is ridiculous. How far in advance does it have to be? Doesn't reasonableness matter at all, or is it all smoke and mirrors to make you nod and smile at all the great things America's going to become if we pass his budget?

I think it is more than just what rbr-whatnot said. There is a societal shift that has been going on for a while, facebook was not the catalyst but it was definitely the rocket fuel that put social networking as an invention of modern day society.
