has anyone taken PE 111 Indoor Group Cycling? how is the class, and how does it compare to PE 101 or 102.

I'm in it right now... most days, you ride an indoor bike. The workout is self-paced; nobody will be able to tell if you loosen the resistance on the bike except yourself, but I'd recommend trying to get the most out of the workouts so that you can develop over the semester (it'll be important not only for your lifetime fitness, but also later in the semester). Also, we are going to spend several days in the weight room throughout the semester. Throughout the semester, he said we will also do sit up drills and push up drills on occasion, as well as take a few minutes out of some classes for "lecture" material. The grade consists of 20% for midterm exam, 20% for final exam, 30% for the endurance ride (you'll be timed on how fast you can ride 10 miles, which is why it is important to take the workouts seriously.. even though I know a few people that slacked off in this class and still didn't have much problem), 10% for bench press test, 10% for sit ups test, and 10% for leg press test. I don't know how it stacks up against 101 and 102 since I haven't taken either of them, so just use School Tool for those two classes.I should also add that I'm taking Paul Powers right now, so other teachers may be different in terms to grading and daily schedule, but across the board, they should all be pretty similar (ride a bike most days).

Research? For a PE class...I had DeReu and Powers. DeReu is pretty nice and his quizzes are all on moodle and you have a bit of time, you have up to 3 weeks to take a timed quiz. I liked them both. All of our PE coaches are pretty good... The way they spilt up the grades is different for each teacher so don't take what EggNogMan says too seriously.
