It starts Jan. 24th.Anyone planning on going? If so where to?http://www.trirestaurantweek.com/

yes...not sure where, yet

List of menus sorted by price. Some of them don't seem to be that great of a deal.http://eat2winraleigh.com/raleigh-restaurant-week-menus-2011/I think Solas and Five Star look like pretty good menus for the price.

Oh sweet. I really enjoyed doing this in August. Maybe we'll do this time too.Last time we did Buku and Zely and Ritz. I thought Zely and Ritz was overpriced but the food was good. Buku seemed hit or miss with everyone at our table.

DC week is this week and there were some amazing deals to be had
1/20/2011 11:20:02 AM
Just went to Lucca last night in Charleston:http://luccacharleston.com/One of the best meals I've had in Charleston...which is saying a lot. The gf got "Restaurant Week" meal, four courses, a soup, pasta, entree, and desert. But I got an app and an entree. I'm pretty picky with Italian, but everything we had was amazing. If you ever want good Italian when you're down here, definitely check out this place.
1/20/2011 11:36:38 AM
^ My bf is an italian food fanatic and we love to go to charleston. thanks for the recommendation.
1/20/2011 11:38:24 AM
The menu at 42nd Street Oyster Bar is kind of ridiculous. I feel like with some of these restaurants they don't really want to do restaurant week so they just half ass the menu they offer.
1/20/2011 1:59:01 PM
^I feel like a lot of the extremely high end restaurants do that. I kind of don't blame them...but it's still a little sad.
1/20/2011 2:58:46 PM
On the other end of the spectrum, its funny to see lesser places take part in this when you could go in there normally and get anything on the menu for under $20 bucks. There's a place call Trio here in Charlotte thats trying to jazz it up by including a free tea or soda. Make it a highball and we'll talk.
1/20/2011 3:04:20 PM
^Trio sucks.Anyone been to Buku? I like the looks of their set menu much more then the rest.
1/20/2011 3:26:31 PM
^
1/20/2011 4:15:08 PM
I went to Coquette last year and it was just awful.
1/20/2011 4:23:16 PM
^ What was bad? The food? The service? Everything?
1/20/2011 4:24:29 PM
The food and the service. Worst steak I've ever had in a restaurant. I would have been 100% happier at applebees.
1/20/2011 4:27:17 PM
Damn yeah that's bad considering that place is $texas and Applebee's is Empire Eats just mailed out their Restaurant Week menus:http://empireeats.com/whats_happeningLooks like it's just Sitti and Gravy this time.[Edited on January 20, 2011 at 4:33 PM. Reason : s]

paging my buddy Netstorm
1/20/2011 5:00:44 PM
Buku has gone way downhill. don't go there.
1/20/2011 6:33:15 PM
I like Buku, and probably eat there every other week, but that said, I haven't had anything that they're serving for this menu. The falafal with the sambal sauce is AMAZING though.
1/20/2011 6:35:33 PM
I only go to the places that are normally really expensive. No sense in blowing 30 dollars anywhere else.Four Square and Mo's Diner do a really good job. It's too bad St. Jacques doesn't participate.
1/20/2011 7:34:58 PM
quote from eneral manager at the Artisan. made me lol. "We also have a cheese that comes out on fire, its about 20 letters long so I'm not going to try to pronounce it"
1/20/2011 7:45:14 PM
anyone been to Gravy?I've wanted to check it out but heard the food isn't too great. we're pretty picky when it comes to Italian food (husband's family is Italian and we're used to great food). The only two Italian restaurants we'll frequent is Casalinga and Casa Carbone. How is Watts Grocery in Durham? considering going there for lunch tomorrow
1/20/2011 7:47:46 PM
omg casalinga!!my family has been going there since like 1997. its far from where we live (durham) but whenever i go home and my parents want to take me out there is no question, i always want to go to casalinganow i want it!! curse you xcchik
1/20/2011 7:52:04 PM
sorry! Now I'm craving it too - might have to go see Carlos tomorrow night! We went there for the first time on my due date for the eggplant parm after reading online that it could possibly induce labor. no luck (she was a week late) but a good excuse nonetheless. We celebrated my daughters first birthday there and have been dozens of other times over the years
1/20/2011 8:07:35 PM
We used to go to Casalinga almost every friday when I was in high school and when I would come home from college. They catered some of our parties before. My parents were always friendly with Carlos and his (ex? I don't think they're together anymore) wife.

Weird that they changed it from August to January. I know it coincides with all the All Star game...wonder if they'll do another in August or if this is it for the year.
1/20/2011 11:01:57 PM
I have nothing to say about Restaurant Week, I just wanted to add:Casalinga is the shit, I completely agree (and Rob is quite possibly the best waiter ever)

1/21/2011 8:23:47 PM
I went a few years ago and wasn't impressed.
1/22/2011 12:26:23 AM

1/22/2011 12:38:38 AM
^ What do you recommend at Mo's Diner ?
1/25/2011 7:00:48 PM
Ate the special at Remedy Diner.Desert was like a wrecking ball of sugar. Unbelievably good.
1/25/2011 7:08:33 PM

1/25/2011 9:06:56 PM

1/26/2011 2:02:42 AM

1/26/2011 10:46:08 AM
Going to Ruth's Chris tonight and The Big Easy tomorrow.
1/26/2011 10:48:42 AM
^^That place always seem pretty dead, but the menu looks good. I like how two scoops of ice cream is $6
1/26/2011 1:19:23 PM
1/26/2011 2:53:22 PM
^ Yeah, I would love to know if restaurants will accept them.
1/26/2011 5:03:50 PM
1/26/2011 9:29:59 PM
The ones I have don't seem to have that exclusion but yeah knowing restaurant managers they wouldn't care anyway lol.
