I’ve followed the field as a hobby for a while now, but I want to get deeper into it.Anyone have any good recommendations?Mostly for the time being looking for something introductory, but that also delves into algorithms some. I’m particularly interested in bayesian theories and neural nets (and related aspects of AI).I’m NOT interested in game programming AI or path-finding type of books.

this is pretty much the standard textbook. it covers the topic at a pretty high level of course, but it does have a chapter on bayesian stuff and a section on neural networks.http://www.amazon.com/Artificial-Intelligence-Modern-Approach-3rd/dp/0136042597/

^ i saw that book referenced several times, and it was the one i had decided on if no one had anything else to say. It's just one of the reviews of that book on Amazon made it seem like it was a little outdated.I might just try and borrow from the library and see what I think.
