i might take 2 classes which are 5 minutes apart so I'm wondering if thats enough time to get from 1 class to another. the class is in the gym (archery) then I have to go to caldwell hall. i rather not be late, so is that enough time. has anyone taken archery before do you know if they let you out early a few minutes?
1/6/2011 3:30:05 PM
run!
1/6/2011 3:49:13 PM
I didn't think they scheduled classes 5 minutes apart. You're going to be late to the second class.
1/6/2011 4:09:55 PM
When i was like a freshman or something it wouldn't even let you sign up for classes 15 minutes apart for this reason. I had to go to my advisor and be manually put in the class. Classes were like 2 rooms apart.I'm AstralAdvent and I approved this message

Its been several years since I had target archery, but I don't remember it regularly letting out early. Here is the school tool entry, you might PM some people on their and ask their opinion?http://thewolfweb.com/school_course.aspx?department=PE&coursenumber=251I think talking to the teacher about getting out 5 minutes early is your best bet. You wont miss much not firing an arrow for the 10th time in a row, whereas being 5 minutes late to a real class would probably have you missing more. Or, you could get a bike.
1/6/2011 6:09:53 PM
ok the best thing that can happen is someone in one of the archery sections will drop and I will be able to swap into a different section to make time for the other class

One year, I had ten minutes to get from a lecture at EB1 to the top floor of Jordan for a BIT class. If the bus was late or the lecture ran long, there was no way to make it there on time. The instructor for the BIT class was very understanding since a third of her class was missing when we were late.

too much hassle dealing with a bike, locking it, might get stolen, etc. but if i decide to run would i make it in time? it is only 2 days a week so i do not mind doing it. my second class is film which is almost 2 hours, i can only take it then because only 1 section of it is offered. also maybe they don't care if you are late to a film class, since they are showing a movie anyway, and you are coming from the back of the room.
1/9/2011 10:31:02 PM
Yeah, if you run, you'll make it. I've made it longer distances across campus than that in 5 minutes when I overslept for a test or was running late for an important class. It isn’t a pleasant thing to do with a backpack, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis, but State’s main campus is definitely crossable in 5 minutes if you’re willing to book it every time.
1/10/2011 12:21:11 AM
Definitely not worth it dude. You're going to hate yourself if you try this. You'll probably run late on PE, and you're probably underestimating the run to Caldwell.I'd reschedule.
1/10/2011 12:59:46 AM
hmm alright i appreciate the suggestions, i'll think about it... they always let out early on the first day in PE right?
1/10/2011 10:07:50 AM
I have two classes that are 0 minutes and 0 seconds apart so stop your whining and bite me
1/11/2011 1:37:32 AM
^I did that once, but I hate being the last person to come to a small class, so I dropped the later one
1/11/2011 2:04:20 AM
i managed to get into an earlier target archery section from 12:25-1:15.
1/11/2011 12:53:23 PM
^^Yeah it's only a 10 person class haha.. but I had the professor last semester so she knows me and it'll be alright.
1/11/2011 3:38:05 PM
Film class is 1 day film, 1 day discussion. From what I remember, you have tests (oh noes!), a paper or two (aah!), and attendance IS TAKEN (WHATEVER WILL I DO?? This is college, not REAL LIFE!!!)Fuck, I'm tired of you.
1/11/2011 6:58:57 PM
i know i saw the syllabus and it looks like very little work for a 400 class actually. i had 2x more work in a 300 class honestly. so i got no problem with this course. i'll ignore your sarcasm but i already said in another topic i was rank 3rd in my chass major, 96/1290 in chass so top 10%, etc. so obviously i do a lot of work, much more than the avg. student so you just have no ideaok then leave study hall or stop reading my posts?[Edited on January 11, 2011 at 7:15 PM. yeah, you do a lot of work trying to avoid as much work as possible
1/12/2011 12:00:36 AM
OK, I guess you switched sections and all, but I've taken target archery (forget who it was with, some big dude) and a film class (Gomez). Archery did not routinely let out early and Gomez was all about some attendance. So...yeah. Good thing you switched.
1/13/2011 2:44:11 AM
yeah, you do a lot of work trying to avoid as much work as possibleu mad? yeah, thats called being smart and not accepting unreasonable expectations, stop trolling my topics ok

1/14/2011 8:58:56 PM
your joking right? i already said in the other topic, out of 72. so i must be very good at avoiding "as much work as possible"
1/14/2011 9:09:52 PM
you're screwed
1/16/2011 2:47:09 AM
You're in the top 5% of what we can only assume, from your plethora of study hall threads, the easiest major available at state. And you've achieved it by taking the easiest classes possible. We salute you, some-chass-major-guy.
1/16/2011 10:28:05 AM
yes your partially right. i already said all chass BA majors are easy so which chass major is not really relavant, but what major do you think is the easiest in chass? if you look at the curriculums, there is not much variation in them and you have a lot of choice on what you can take. i just spend more time figuring out what are the easiest teachers and classes when the option's available, because why waste that opportunity,[Edited on January 16, 2011 at 11:35 AM. ok. why do they have grade distributions, which the purpose of is grade inflation, allows students to see which teachers are the easiest? so why do people always sign up for the teachers with better grade distributions first? why do places like ratemyprofessors, my edu, etc. exist? a lot of people, most of college students want to take easy classes, the problem is most of them don't care enough or spend "more time" to find the easiest classes, meaning they just don't care enough about grades, GPA, etc., there is nothing wrong with taking easy classes and teachers, actually having grade distributions suggests they want you tothe difference is I actually care about grades to prepare and plan ahead in the beginning so I can do less work in the end and get the best grades, which is smart, that doesn't mean i'm not learning though, just that i do the work required to get an A in an easy class. lets say someone is 50 spots below and worked harder, knows more stuff etc, but gets a worse grade, now how exactly is that fair? if that's the case they have no body to blame but themselves, they had every opportunity to take the easier teacher, etc. if they put the time into it, but they didn't and now will have to pay. I mean if you knew you were gonna get a wrongful grade in a class you put in a lot of work, would you have taken it?basically what I'm saying is, 1) do a little work ahead of time to find the best teacher/easiest classes and in the end get the grade you deserve, or 2) don't plan ahead, and end up taking some hard class/teacher, and get a grade that doesn't reflect the amount of work you put in, or do more work for the same grade as someone taking the easy class/teacher which is unfair. yeah both have downsides but i'll pick the former b/c that is still the more reasonable option[Edited on January 16, 2011 at 3:55 PM. 1/16/2011 6:49:24 PM
ok. how about you don't worry about my spelling on these boards, b/c my credentials speak for themselvesnot saying i'm a "god in chass" but as I already said: 3/72-major, 96/1,290-chass, 460/5,680-all juniors, plus dean's list every semester since freshman year, invitation to 3 honors programs, and take classes every summer even though I don't have to, so either i must be very good at avoiding work, or i am just good and can always get good grades in the classes i take, although obviously I prefer easy ones whenever possible, now which do you think it is. i mean ask yourself, can someone who avoids work all the time really be ranked that high? [Edited on January 16, 2011 at 8:22 PM. Reason : so now people are reduced to shouting petty insults because their arguments were proven wrong]
1/16/2011 8:10:23 PM
it's not spelling. you clearly don't know the difference between the 2 & when to use them correctly. it's not like your finger just slipped to the wrong key. i bet you don't know the difference in there, their, and they're either.
1/16/2011 9:54:43 PM
ok, but i already said that doesn't matter to me, b/c i'm typing an online chat board, not an essay, i mean seriously what are you an english teacher or something.but my question is who are you and why just barge into the topic and not post anything of relavance? not to mention the matter has already been concluded, are you purposley trying to troll or something?
1/16/2011 11:33:53 PM

1/17/2011 3:58:21 PM
I showed some of these threads to a friend of mine, who happens to be a dean of career services at one of the area law schools. She says karma is going to kick gz390 in the ass. She was literally speechless after reading through the HI 275 thread.
1/17/2011 5:25:56 PM
enough with the jokes already, you trolls are pathetic. i'm not even sure what he issue is here. seems like people are spending too much time getting upset about what classes someone else takes/ their spelling on a mesage board, when they have their own lives to worry about. ^karma will kick my ass eh? tell them i said up your assholes. in fact i was obviously exageratting in that thread if you couldn't tell dipshit. i ended up with a good grade in the class so you still have no idea.
1/17/2011 5:44:27 PM
get over it guys, gz390 runs chass
1/17/2011 5:55:16 PM
people are apparently still mad i can somehow get good results w/o much effort, this is why they now are throwing petty insults like "idiot", sorry but i can't take anything you jokers say seriously, its ironic actually, b/c apparently your lives are so insignificant you have the time to correct people's spelling, grammar, whatever on a message board? and even to read every single post of someone who you don't even know? you don't own the fucking place nor do you have any reason to post here, except to troll, yet bother to read all my posts. admit it you kids are losers. don't like me? don't read my post and just move on, there will always be people like me, otherwise i wouldn't be here. i came to study hall to find information on teachers, classes, etc. you know, the purpose of the board, not to argue with a bunch of pathetic low-lifes who apparently spend too much time sitting in front of a computer screen worrying about other people they don't even know@ Flying tiger: I don't give a flying shit who or what, your friend, or dean of the law school says or whatever, just by reading my threads, where sometimes I wasn't even being completely serious, but exaggerating as well, cannot say "karma will kick his ass"just let the topic die[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 6:36 PM. I'm glad you're not being serious when you say you're third in your class, when it's clear you're a pretty worthless student. Your continued efforts to do no work will surely come in handy when you graduate. What sort of job/field are you hoping to get into?
1/17/2011 7:11:27 PM
hey we'll see about that OK? but if there is anything i am indeed serious about then yes it is I'm third my class/major, top 10%, of all juniors and chass majors, something you could only dream of achieving when you were a chass major. no wonder your so clingy about what i'm doing. i get it, it angers you that i am rank 3 in a chass dept, and in the top 100 of all chass juniors, because when you were in chass, you were unable to achieve those things.I never said my efforts would come in handy when I graduate did I?- that's not the point again, thats why i'm in CHASS, and the purpose of Study Hall is to talk about classes, teachers, tests, homework ,etc., since when was it necessary to talk about things, jobs, or whatever, after you graduate? don't they have the other boards for that? your thinking too far ahead man and i'm not here to chit chat about that stuff, just classes, etc. why do you keep wanting to know or care so much? look there is no specific job/field I am looking for, again that's why i'm getting a B.A. not a BS, so its very possible what I will "hope to get into" is unrelated to my major. so just look at it as that i'm here for a diploma with the words "summa cum laude", something you couldn't achieve ok?[Edited on January 17, 2011 at 8:26 PM. You'd be a wonderful study for a psych major. All that pent-up anger and projected feelings. Also, I finally call bullshit that you're even close to top of your class. You sound like a typical bottom-feeder who would cheat at first opportunity to get ahead.
