I remember seeing it in Outsourced... anyone played this before? I'd like to try it sometime, but I don't know anyone that has it or has played it, so I might end up buying it. It is kind of like a cross b/w pool and shufflepuck. Looks pretty fun!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carromhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp2CnAQ4WRk

I just came here to say that Outsourced sucks

we had a carrom board in the office/library room growing up. it sucked.
1/1/2011 8:22:30 PM
I think this would be a fun thing to have at a bar
1/1/2011 8:25:59 PM
<--Middle Eastern.I grew up playing this. It's pretty fun, but gets old after a while.
1/1/2011 8:27:45 PM
haha, you watch outsourced
1/1/2011 8:42:44 PM
only bar i've been to that has shuffleboard still is Isaac hunters, and those are always being played (never seen them empty after 10 oclock). Hi5 used to have it, but I don't know if they do anymore. and yes, I watch sitcoms on NBC- what bearing that has on Carrom, I don't know, but it is true.

there are plenty of excellent NBC sitcoms (30 rock, community, parks & rec)outsourced is not one of them

it started out weak, but got better as it went onI get some people don't like it, but it is a simple show and we enjoyed itbut like I said, this thread isn't about outsourced, it is about Carrom- SO BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND!Anyone got a board?[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 9:20 PM. Reason : s]

quit trying to steal my thread. (and fwiw I could go and find a good review for it just as easily as you found that- notE I said it wasn't for everyone, be we liked it)CORRUM MOTHER FUCKERS, DO YOU PLAY IT??
1/1/2011 9:33:21 PM
did you like it because you truly enjoy stock characters and flat, uninspired jokesor because you don't understand the metafiction of community ]
1/1/2011 9:36:05 PM
k, you made your point- you don't like the show, and upon your high horse, everyone else that can enjoy a simple mindless show must be beneath you and not capable of "understanding" other shows (which in my mind are not much deeper)with that, my opinion has been made, as has yours. And yet, still no real talk of CarromANYONE GOT A BOARD?[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 9:40 PM. Reason : we get it- your awesome as hell and too good for these shows]
1/1/2011 9:39:41 PM
a nod to the glengarry speech coded into a reference to a line of dialogue earlier in the season isn't deeper than indian stereotypes that would make dat phan's uncle blush?okay.
1/1/2011 9:42:23 PM
I think the fact that they did TWO episodes centered around Indian food giving the main character diarrhea is damning enough.[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 9:45 PM. Reason : Also Community is fucking brilliant]
1/1/2011 9:44:26 PM
(fwiw Community is our favorite out of the thursday lineup, and outsourced is our least, but just because it is at the bottom of that list doesn't mean we can't enjoy it)[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 9:48 PM. Reason : h]

this looks like that game we used to play on tables in the lunch room with two quarters and a nickel.
1/2/2011 12:08:53 AM
we had a board when i was real little. i don't think we knew how to play though so we just threw pieces around and played "mini-pool"

Back to the real topic of the thread, Outsourced sucks obviously, but I never understood why so many people liked Community, either. I get its self-referential "meta-humor," but I just don't think it's that funny. But, I know a lot of people do, so I guess it's subjective.Parks and Recreation rules, though. THAT show has gotten funnier as it has progressed, IMO.

Ranking NBC's Thursday night sitcoms:1) Community2) Parks and Rec3) 30 Rock4) The OfficeAlthough 30 Rock season 3 was better than Parks and Rec season 1, so switch those for 2009.
