So I now live in Budapest, Hungary.I'm teaching English to 3rd and 4th graders and loving it. Not exactly what I pictured when I was a wide-eyed 18 year old, but it's where I am and like I said, I'm really enjoying it.Where has life taken you? Is it something you expected?

I now live in England. My husband is working here and it's allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom to our two boys. If you had asked in college if I would be living in England in 5 years, I'd say no way, but we are loving life here and hoping to stay longer than our 3 year contract!

I'd like to make it to Hungary one day. Did you need TESL for the job?

^^Teaching in Hangzhou, China is definitely in the cards in the near future. Need more info though. Had some friends teach English in Poland and she said it was horribly boring and she taught 4 hours a day and spent the rest of the time with another American drinking a fifth of vodka a day

According to my friend currently in Beijing, while the pay within China is good, it's terrible by international standards. You would be much better off in South Korea or Japan if you want to be paid well overall. If you have money saved up for your plane ticket home, China is a good option. That's where my friend has gotten screwed

Morphine Boy, how are the women prospects in Hungary? All Hungarian women I have met have been petite and quite frisky

For TEFL/TESL, the Gulf Arab countries are the best in terms of pay, not so good in other respects.$3,500 is quite easy to get, and up to $5K-6K can be had if working with military contractors.(per month, and needless to say, tax-free)(free furnished accommodation and utilities as well)[Edited on February 22, 2011 at 7:02 AM.
