Anyone register to take classes for leisure? I work full time but i miss learning so I am going to try to take a Spanish course to refresh my Spanish. a swim class b/c its too cold to swim in the cove. and maybe a Flash course or another comp. course. I do miss school and learning new things a little bit.

I'm getting my Master's but I still take classes at CC for photography and art

^^ What do you do that offers you an abundance of free time to take these classes as well as providing you with enough extra cash to take these unnecessary classes. Are you a CEO of some kind?

Why the hate?

I'm interested in the class that has the most hottest chicks
12/14/2010 9:46:36 PM
merbig is a terrible troll. just awful

^^^ There's no hate. It was an honest question. Most people I know of who take classes for fun are old, because they actually have time.^ It was better when you were gone. Go away.

i know people who have gone back to community college for a technical degree so they could make more money

Not at the moment, but I've been busy finishing up my pre-reqs for my nursing courses at the local comm. college. Cheap, good professors and small classroom environment. Yay. A lot of people in my personal network in their 20s and 30s are taking all sorts of classes at various institutions- to expand skillsets, learn new ones, or just out of personal interest. Why not? It's better than sitting in front of the TV all day and vegetating.

I just finished a semester as a non-degree student at State and enjoyed the challenge.Being 10 years older than the rest of my class of freshman was fun too.

if i didn't have a kid right now there's a ton of classes at durham tech i'd be taking in the evenings. engine repair photography spanishtons of others. alas no time...

i spent a summer taking some classes at durham tech so i could graduate early...it was cheaper than state, and, quite honestly, my chem professor at tech was better than any chem professor i ever had here (well, the adjunct prof from peace that taught organic was pretty good)anyway, i'm not really contributing anything regarding the OP's question...just coming in to say that CC classes can be fun and better than "real" classes at a university

I have Engineering degrees from State but went back to Wake Tech for pre-reqs so I could get in to the MBA program at Campbell. Money was the deciding factor in both Wake Tech and Campbell.

After all my flight training I will probably sign up for some CC courses so I can start to look into a distance ed non-thesis masters.[Edited on December 16, 2010 at 9:40 AM. Reason : In regards to the OP's question. I took some leisure CC classes at night in high school. ]

I've been thinking about taking Wake Tech's sewing class just for the hell of it.

^ x not sure- I also took a lot of classes at Durham Tech. The professors, except for one I had there, were overall fantastic and pretty experienced (most PhDs, or a billion years in their field). I'd like to take a welding class there at some point- I can do basic welding but I want more experience than welding bike frames together. Supposedly they have a really modern shop, one of the best around here.

I work non profit. its like 23 bucks a credit over here. so even the language class is like 80. the swim class is 23. Flash class is free.classes are at night not during the day. and hopefully i can snag the language class online. they also have like 1 time classes during the weekend. like the flash. so no i work full time.

I graduate in May from NC State with a degree in Fisheries & Wildlife Biology. I'm then going to Cape Fear CC to do the Marine Technology associates degree program. Combining technical degrees with a more science based/ higher education degree is a win/win in the science field..... We have a great community college system in NC

I want to take a welding class.

I took the motorcycle safety foundation course at Durham Tech and took calculus at a CC in high school.MSF was sweet, calc scared me because it was easy and I got the second highest grade in the class, despite having a shit pre-calc course and being the only high schooler.

there are exceptions to this, some medical tech's get paid more than nurses and places really like you to have both a BS/BA and the tech cert. it depends on the subject and the area of course
