So I picked up a brand new, cheap Northern Industries 125 Flux Core Wire Feed welder today off Craigslist.According to the reviews, this thing is a great little welder with the flux core wire. I'm pretty sure this is a solid "No", but is it at all possible to retrofit a gas setup onto this thing if I ever wanted to upgrade down the road?http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200403263_200403263

you'll end up spending more than that thing costs newresell it on craigslist and save to get at least the hobart 140....yea its small and you'll likely want to upgrade if you plan on using it any real amount of time. but on the other hand, it is plenty of welder and can actually take you quite far if you know what you're doing

That northern welder SUCKS bigtime, my buddy has one and I think I have used it more in the past year than he has. I call it the "booger special". Budget for a good grinder and lots of flap wheels, youll need them.

I've got one like it...it's fine for tack welding out in the field.

For $75 i'm not complaining, haha.I've used this a few times since I got it, and have actually got some decent beads with it.
