Just checked it on the http://www.twcnc.com site and its there...

http://www.timewarnercable.com/signaturehome

50/5 - $99.95
30/5 - $72.95

I will still keep my AT&T U-Verse 24/3 for $55 after my lifetime discounts are applied.

No way i'm switching just to gain the channel bonding that D3 adds. Because after all its still TWC!

ffff. their website says it was available for me (27604). i went to place an order for the 30Mbps service at $54.95/mo. BUT the 'shopping cart' thing on their website wouldn't let me uncheck Wireless Home Networking which is like an extra $12/mo.

So I called them up and the person who took my call just told me that its not available in Raleigh. I asked her to double check b/c the website says it is available, but she kept refusing to check.

Looks like it'll let me order online, but I dont want to pay the $39.99 "Wireless Home Networking Installation Fee". And voicemail? I dont even have the TWC Phone service selected, what would I do with a random voicemail box?

Upgrade Fee $29.99 1 $29.99
Wireless Home Networking Installation Fee $39.95 1 $39.95
One Time Charges Total $69.94

I used zip 28348 for the Fayetteville area, its actually Hope Mills. I used my mom and dads account to see what was available on their account. Interesting enough I didn't see the 30/5 service level like on mine, only the 50/5, 10/??, and 7/??...

But I am going to the Kiosk at crabtree mall to pick up the D3 compatible modem tomorrow. With intentions of adding the WideBand 50/5 tier to my account. My giganews connection will love it!

Unfortunately I live in one of those fucking mandatory 'cable' included apartment complexes. So I will just add the 'WideBand' service to my account.

I have no intentions of keeping the service longer than the 30 days 'money back guarantee' period. I am quite content with my solid 24/3 U-Verse connection at $55.

Will report sometime in the mid-morning if I am successful in getting my modem provisioned with a D3 50/5 config file.

In other news, I can confirm that my area still has a hard cap at 2 Mbps on the upload for all D1 and D1.1 modems.

I had Roadrunner Standard holding steady at $34.95 a month, but they jacked the price up to $57.95 on me as of this month. That's what, only two bucks less a month than the fucking 30 Mbps Internet-only plan? Jesus.

I got someone at TWC in Raleigh on the phone. He checked into it further and said Signature is NOT available in Raleigh yet.

^^^^where are you putting that in? When I put in our church address (slap in down town Hope Mills) the best I could do was the 15/2; and I want that 5Mbit upload for live video streaming.

So I went the online chat route this morning. If they send me another canned response I may lose it. I have no idea WTF he's trying to tell me; he just keeps hitting buttons.

Just spoke to Cecil at TWC local. He said Wideband is available in Charlotte, and they are in late testing stages in Raleigh. He said that if he had to wager when it was going to be available in Raleigh, it would be inside of 30 days.

So, looks like the website is a little ahead of itself.

Well it looks like the website has been edited to only allow the standard and turbo versions of RoadRunner now.

Also its weird since that SignatureHome is supposed to include the WideBand in the 199.95 base price. But you cant even select that now... humm...

signature home is for real at twc. and if you pay for this service and have a standing issue, it gets escalated quickly, and high-up. just fyi.

I have the 50 meg from Suddenlink when I stay at my apartment. It makes skype calls that much clearer. It's very nice for somethings...general web browsing not so much difference.

Man, I sure hope it comes through.

It's sort of hard to believe what I'm paying now for uploads that are hard-capped at 44k/s.

And when you're uploading something, you cannot use the internet. Loading your Gmail takes about 5 minutes if you're also uploading to YouTube. Makes me want to smash things.

since we're at the holidays, you won't see many changes to most provider networks until the new year (perhaps a duh on this one). they call it "blackout" time at most providers.

as a vendor who sells to twc, prices per QAM have dropped dramatically and will continue to do so in the next few years, which to the consumer means faster and more reliable data speeds, as select frequencies are made available for such use (instead of going where they usually do when they are freed up - HD video channels).

by the end of 2010, most of the turbulence and major issues concerning production DOCSIS 3.0 have been worked out, and providers are more ready to bite the bullet on capital costs associated with large deployments/upgrades.

there are many factors involved, but equipment prices have been dropping and quality has only been improving. consider 2011 the year shit got done. look for DOCSIS 3.0 upgrades happening across the country (my guess is early-mid year for many markets), and IPv6 is a HUGE DEAL to providers right now, which is also pushing architectural/hardware upgrades. i can't think of a single major ISP that is not under the gun to deliver IPv6 next year.

be damn sure on that earthlink deal and verify that you are actually getting the speeds they are selling you. I was sold that 15 down pkg and it turns out I was only getting 10/512. When I called them I was directed to call TWC who handles all of their services and was told that 10/512 was the max available in the area. Earthlink just sold it to me without checking if it was actually available. To say it was a pain in the ass to get the money refunded and get it changed correctly in the TWC system would be a MASSIVE understatement.

fuck earthlink is really what I am trying to say.

I received the following email from TWC yesterday -- last night my modem apparently went offline for a while.... can't wait for faster speeds.

Quote :
"Over the next several days, Time Warner Cable will be upgrading its Digital Home Phone and High Speed Internet delivery systems. We're excited to say that this upgrade we will enable us to offer even faster Internet speeds and improved reliability in the future. Look for more information on new speed offerings soon.

All necessary work will be performed at night between midnight and 6 am in order to minimize the potential for service interruptions. During this time you may experience a brief loss of Road Runner High Speed Online and/or Digital Home Phone service. Once the upgrade is complete, your service should be operating normally.

If your modem is not working properly after the upgrade, please follow the steps below before calling Time Warner Cable.

1. Make sure your computer is turned completely off.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the cable modem or from the electrical power source/outlet. Make sure you are unplugging the modem power cord and not the round coaxial cable that has a threaded screw tip.
3. After waiting approximately 30 seconds, reconnect the power to the cable modem.
4. Wait another minute to allow the modem to acquire a signal or reconnect.
5. Then restart your computer. The modem connection light will be solid.
6. Attempt to surf to two web pages to verify good connectivity.

If this does not resolve your Internet connection problem, please contact customer service.

We appreciate your patience as we take steps to serve you better. Please call 1-800-892-2253 if you have any questions.

Thank you for being a Time Warner Cable customer. "

I spoke to a representative...they said it was 100% available, but only if I got their entire $199.99 package of everything I don't need. She said it was NOT available on it's own.

^that sucks. They've got you by the balls if you want the faster internet though.

When we 'gonna pass an a-la-carte law where stuff like that is illegal. I'll pay the premium for getting it solo, but I don't want every information source in my house tied over TWC. If they go down I have no other venue to obtain information (cell phone I guess.)

that would surprise me, i dont think that's how the rest of twc is doing it...

i think a lot of people at twc are out of sync with each other on the plans for D3.0 rollouts, especially in the carolinas.

so in other words, i would not go with what that rep told you... i dont think she's correct.

We (UNC) was told Wideband is now available in Chapel Hill, but I still cant get it at my address in north Raleigh. The person responsible for the frat contracts is following up, and I'll let you know what I find out.
