I'm actually looking too. I know a lot of people have land outside the city and usually load up a pickup truck every time they go home. Wood usually goes pretty cheap this time of year. I'd be interested in about a 1/2 cord of small/medium logs split, delivered and stacked if anyone's selling...

prices are around $85 for a full size pickup load delivered and stacked. My family has done some each year for the last 5 years or so. We have timbered a bit of our land each year to manage it and sold the hardwood as firewood. Its the Harnett, Lee, Moore, Cumberland Co. area though and I dont believe they would deliver this far. There is usually somebody out there that will do it for like 55 - 60 a load but its for a tiny ford ranger size truckload and its usually crap wood. I would be reluctant to go for the cheapest out there. I recommend checking the size of the truck (full size), make sure its all hardwood (no pine), about 1/2 seasoned and 1/2 a little bit greener wood (as the greener wood burns longer). And obviously make sure it is split and not just all small or large logs.

you can always get firewood at the farmers market. It's not the cheapest wood youll find but its easy to get to, readily available, and you don't have to hunt it down
