I'm hoping maybe one of you guys can help here. I recently purchased a WDTV Live Plus HD Media Player for my home theatre setup. I have programmed my Harmony One remote and set up a new activity for watching the WDTV. However, I have noticed an issue that I can't seem to solve. My setup includes a TV, DVD player/AV receiver all-in-one, cable box and my WDTV Live. If I am watching TV using the TV, cable box, and receiver and I wish to turn it all off (like I'm going to sleep), then I simply press the power button on the upper left corner of the remote which turns all devices off. However, now I have the issue where when I do that, the WDTV Live will turn on! I'm not using it or planning to use it, as I'm wishing to power everything off. But yet, the command is getting sent to turn all the "on" devices off and the one "off" device (WDTV Live) on. I am at a loss of what to do to remedy this, it has become really annoying. I've deleted the activity and device and readded them but still no luck. What can I do? Any ideas?

I would post in Logitech's forums. The Harmony is supposed to know which devices aren't are on or off so it wouldn't bother sending a command to the WDTV if it knew it was off.

It's probably just that the same signal for power on/off on one of your other devices is the same signal needed for on/off on the WDTV. Does the inverse happen if you hit the button again?

I have both a Harmony One and a WDTV Live and have never had this problem.I don't really know what to tell you. As a last resort you could just tell the Harmony to always leave the WDTV on (the power usage is pretty minimal) and that would most likely solve the issue, although in a pretty ugly way.Or if it truly does happen every time, you can set a macro to power toggle the WDTV (again) on every shutdown. Again, not very elegant, but it should do the trick.]

the inverse does not happen. the way the button is programmed on the remote, it is a "master off" button..it's not meant to turn any devices on, only off. that's why this is so peculiar.

It's not really a master off button, it's a master "power toggle" button except for devices like a receiver that have discreet on and off buttons. Most likely the Harmony thinks the WDTV is on and needs to be turned off. Which is strange because unless you're using the other remotes, it should know pretty well what's on and off, since it's the one controlling everything. When you were setting up the Watch TV Activity did you include the WDTV in the setup process at all?

Be sure the wdtv is setup as a power toggle device in the harmony setup. If it's not it will send a device off signal when you push master off which would turn the wdtv on.

ok, why is the WDTV set to on (line 3) and then the powertoggle again on line 7?

when i set up the activity initially without that power toggle, the WDTV wouldn't turn on when i pressed the button. once i put that command in, it turned on as it should when i pressed the activity button. i dont know if this matters, but i set up the activity using the "generic activity" for a utility.

i don't have a wdtv.under the device tab select the wdtv and adjust settings. then select the advanced settings. you should be able to get to a screen that says the following:

i tried to setup a new activity based on the "watch dvd" but i'm getting the same power problem. in addition, now when the dvd player/av receiver comes on it switches to "load a dvd" rather than do nothing.

yeah - my input is that you don't need that WD action on two separate lines.

Did you try what HaLo suggested? That really should fix your problem.

i reran all the power options setup for the WDTV activity and that seemed to have fixed my problem. nothing had changed because all the options that i set were the same as previous but yet now it's good. very odd. thanks for everyone's help! i now have my remote and WDTV Live working and playing nicely with the rest of my equipment
