Has anyone done any of this around the triangle area? I heard its a decently known hobby, especially in larger towns. It would be fun to get some pictures of inside old structures that may have thrived once and have been out of commission for several years. The legality seems questionable, but i've heard of people doing this.

The legality is not questionable. You're trespassing & possibly breaking and entering.Have fun, don't get caught, don't damage anything, and avoid homeless people.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 2:53 PM. Reason : l]

you can find some pictures in the DSLR thread...i can't remember the name of the user that likes to take them (starts with a p, i think), but Ronny has done somei would love to take my camera and do this...the abandoned asylum down in south carolina (columbia, maybe?) is on my list...i'd really like to go to some local ones, thoughi couldn't care less about the legality of it...i'd prefer not to get caught, though

I did it in Japan. Lots of cool abandoned shit there thanks to their economy being in the tank for 15 years

I've done it a bit in Raleigh back in high school, pretty crazy what's underground. large cavernous rooms, etc. you find a lot of beer bottles and graffiti way deep too.
