Not sure there has been a thread with such a comprehensive look. Not sure if this thread will take off since it requires more data entry than most. Might be able to copy & paste from a transcript or old school tool entries if you have them. Worth a shot though... to see how it all fits together. Especially if we start to see multiple paths to the same major, or similar paths to different majors.

I'm not sure how relevant my list will be, because it was at IU, and it's super-heavy on the math; also oddly enough, considering my posting pattern, I have taken only one class about Gender Studies, and that one wasn't even all that relevant to my posts (something about the "male gaze" and "to-be-looked-at-ness").

i'm not going to copy and paste, but i like the idea of seeing if i can do this from memory. here goes:physics 1calc 1chem 1pms100english 101physics 2calc 2chem 2intro to psychologystaticsbritish literatureintro to materials sciencecalc 3dynamicssolid mechanicshydraulicssystemsdiff eqdiff eq matlab 1 hour course thingthe middle ageshistory of technologyintro to hydrologyintro to soilsintro to trafficwater resources engineeringgeotechnical designwater designintro to coastal engineeringhydraulics labcomputing systems in civil engineeringgeospatial modelingcoastal modelingcomputing systems in civil engineering 2intro to parallel computingnumerical methods in civil engineeringintro to linear algebragod, tried to group by semester, but it gets real hazy after freshman year. especially w/ the humanities.

I'll take an interesting class over an easy class any day.

who said anything about easy classes?

I'll make an attempt to do most of this from memory and refer to MyPack as needed.. probably easier if I separate it by semesterFreshman (Fall)MA 141ENG 101Fundamentals of Meteorology 1 (MEA 213)CH 101/102Bowling (PE 243)Orientation (PMS 100) <--- insert joke hereFreshman (Spring)Microeconomics (EC 201)Modern American History (HI 252)Fundamentals of Meteorology 2 (MEA 214)PY 205MSophomore (Fall)CH 201/202PY 208MMA 241Global Atmosphere (MEA 311)Weather Measurement and Analysis 1 (MEA 313)Sophomore (Spring)Java (CSC 116)College Student Development (ECD 220)Foundations of Graphics (GC 120)MA 242Atmospheric Thermodynamics (MEA 312)Weather Measurement and Analysis 2 (MEA 314)PE 101Junior (Fall)Environmental Ethics (IDS 201)Diff Eq 1 (MA 341)Golf (PE 249)Atmospheric Dynamics 1 (MEA 421)Statistics for Physical Scientists (ST 380)Junior (Spring)English for Scientists (ENG 333)Earth System Chemistry (MEA 323)Atmospheric Physics (MEA 412)Atmospheric Dynamics 2 (MEA 422)Astronomy (PY 124)Senior (Fall)Intro to GIS (GIS 510)Synoptic Meteorology (MEA 443)Data Analysis and Measurement (MEA 493)Physical Oceanography (MEA 460)Internship MEAS (MEA 498)Senior (Spring)Intro to Oceanography (MEA 200)Intro to Coastal Environments (MEA 250)Mesoscale Meteorology (MEA 444)Marine Meteorology (MEA 467)So glad to be finally gradating in the Spring! at first I thought that was preposterous, because introductory linear algebra is so easythen again I also remember that every single core CSCI class at IU could also be taken by grad students in other majors for credit, albeit at a different course number (The first one was C211 for normal undergrads, H211 for undergrads seeking a degree with Honors, and A591 for grad students in other departments)
10/29/2010 9:48:27 PM
in civil you can take any CE500+ or a 400+ in any other department as long as your advisor approves it.intro to linear algebra is ma405. that's all there is to it.
