For serious though, I love Darren Aronofsky. At the same time, I thought the first Wolverine film was mega retarded. So I'm skeptical.

the first movie was good if you knew all the charactersbut i could see someone who didnt know walking out of the movie all WTF

^please elaborate. That movie raped every single character in the film. It was awesome seeing them get screen time, but then the directors interpretation...wow

This is the ONE movie that HAS to be redone. It begs to be redone. The second Hulk movie >>>>>> original hulk. I hope it will turn out something like that.Hollywood loves franchises. They have to get this right to keep making money.

Wolverine was much truer to the cartoon than the x-men movie series. The most important part in my opinion, is not the story, but the characters & action, and they hit that nail right on the head.On another note, it seems like good directors all want their own superhero franchise after Nolan did batman.

so Jackman used his Aronofsky connection from The Fountain and pulled him onto this?I never thought he would do a comic movie.

fact is the x-men series had a better story, but the characters & action sucked, wolverine was the remedynow hopefully darren can bring it all together

does anyone else wish they would find another actor to play wolverine? don't get me wrong, i like jackman, but i really haven't been impressed with his portrayal in any of the movies outside of a few fight scenes. from what i remember of the comics, wolverine was a lot more brutish than HJ has shown
10/24/2010 7:44:20 PM
There is something to be said about "looking the part" which jackman certainly pulls off. I just could never accept Tobey Maguire because he just didn't look like Peter Parker in my mind. This is my fault though.I think with a director that knows him and has a vision he can portray a more brutish side.I was into comics as a kid but don't really care for the movies (even the dark knight) but I'm pretty excited about this. Dr Cox must hate these Wolverine movies more than anyone.

the first 15 minutes of the first one w/ the history montage was better than the rest of the film.I want to see wolverine vs the nazis. that shit would own so much.[Edited on October 25, 2010 at 2:34 PM. Reason : k]

That first Wolverine movie was super ass.I have faith in Aronofsky to revive the series.

wait what
11/16/2010 1:46:28 PM
New title for this movie:"The Wolverine"Sounds like Aronofsky is trying to just pretend that "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" didn't happen, which is fine by me. I definitely want them to ignore it when they make the Deadpool movie.
11/16/2010 2:31:34 PM
Personally I enjoyed the first Wolverine movie...I probably liked it better than any of the 3 X-Men moviesBut my buddy who is a big comic book nerd thought it sucked, so go figure
11/16/2010 2:35:22 PM
I didn't think the first one was that bad, but the first 5 minutes were by far the best part.
11/16/2010 5:56:06 PM
the first 15 minutes or so were awesomenot only them running through all the different wars, but also when they first get up with the rest of the squad[Edited on November 16, 2010 at 6:04 PM. Reason : .]

I really wish Aronofsky were still directing. But I think they're still using the same script, and Mangold has made a few very good movies (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma). And he's made some very polished action movies (Knight and Day). So my hopes are still high that this will be different than some of the other X-men movies and amazingly awesome (in just different ways).
