we want to do something for our 2 bosses this year (boss's day is friday), but have no clue what. flowers & lame gift baskets are, well, lame. one is male, one is female, but the gifts don't have to be the same thing. any ideas? what have you done in the past? we don't have a budget yet but there's 10 of us to pool together.

Everyone show up on time and work an entire productive day without TWW or facebook or whatever time wastes you normally do that should be gift enough

It's generally nice to be a bit more personal with a boss' gift. For example, my boss is super girlie, so we're sending her to the spa.A previous boss was a guy who was really into golf, so we hooked him up with tickets to a major tournament.

1. bosses both know about tww & fb2. 1 boss is my dadnow the everyone showing up on time would be awesome, but we have at least 3 here who i don't think have ever shown up on time & probably never will [Edited on October 12, 2010 at 9:52 AM. Reason : ]

I recommend you set the Hallmark headquarters on fire. You can then shadowbox a photograph of the burnt remains with a chunk of burnt cinder from the fire and deliver it with a note on the back promising to never waste their, or the company's, time with meaningless holidays.[Edited on October 12, 2010 at 3:49 PM. Reason : note not not]

Yea it my old job they used to do this shit every year. Ask for us for like 10-20 bucks for the bosses gift. Fuck that shit. I never got a raise and at the end got paid below minimum wage (after the increase in fed. min. wage) so I left that part-time (formerly full-time) position. I previously contributed though because they gave us a decent bonus at Christmas, which I don't get as a state employee anymore.

they're VERY good to us & we're a small firm, so we're more like family (i'm related to 2 others who work here though). i'm not a big fan of these types of holidays but we really do get a bunch of benefits that typical workplaces don't provide. at least i talked the group out of buying cards. i hate cards. pointless wastes of paper.
