Anyone gone? Is it worth it, or is there someplace better?
10/5/2010 4:42:31 PM
I also want to know about this... TWW Road Trip! lol
10/5/2010 4:43:07 PM
I went >5yr ago. I had a good time, but I also had almost a 12-pack in me. It seems like they add new stuff each year (based on the signs on Covered Bridge Rd and the radio commercials).Again, the details are a bit fuzzy, but it seems like you had to pay for a ticket to each attraction, much like the fair.
10/5/2010 5:37:52 PM
yea, and I thought it wasnt that good.its scary but maybe to a 13 year old.No grown man will jump...maybe not even females unless you are just really really easily scared.
10/5/2010 6:27:30 PM
Went before---it sucked. Too expensive and just a lot of "boo" type scares. If you feel like a drive, Boogerwoods is THE BEST. I've gone the past three years running. Love it.[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 6:28 PM. Reason : add]
10/5/2010 6:28:18 PM
Went last year because I heard it was one of the better ones. No one (all adults) was scared except a few girls for only a second. Any better suggestions? I would love to go to a scary one. Also it was rather expensive.
10/5/2010 6:39:51 PM
Went here last year and going again this year, worth the drive but make sure you buy tickets in advance. The line was LONG and we were able to walk right in with advanced tickets. http://www.spookywoods.com

related: what's the best corn maze within 45 minutes of raleighwood?
10/6/2010 12:37:06 PM
Went there a few years ago. Can't remember how much I paid. All I remember is that it was freakin' cold and it was not scary at all.
10/6/2010 1:50:16 PM
let's try elsewhere for something with absolutely no content other than some pictures of fire
10/6/2010 2:17:08 PM
The best thign about going to this was drinking the whole way there, during in the ride out of a bottle, and the whole way home.
10/6/2010 11:15:53 PM
Boogerwoods...lol.Yeah, I actually want to get scared. Halloween is my freaking crack, I LOVE horror movies and this stuff. Any other suggestions? Is the corn maze at least worth it?
10/7/2010 11:08:11 AM
Corn Maze sucked balls last year. It was just a maze, no one jumped out at you or anything, the jumpy things were the other attractions there. Not to mention, the worst part was there was no right way to do the maze, the entrance was the exit once you walked every path and realized you just wasted your time, money, and gas to get there.

http://www.woodsofterror.comThis one is in Greensboro and it is awesome. I go there and Spooky Woods every year. I plan on going to both tonight. Both Frightmare and the Raleigh Jaycess Haunted House are not running this year. Fear Farm is the only haunted house in the triangle this year.[Edited on October 8, 2010 at 7:30 AM. Reason : ..]

Spookywoods last year was awesome....prally going there again or to somewhere closer to me (CLT).
10/8/2010 11:30:18 AM
Clayton Fear Farm is gayEverything is $10 and it's in fuckin Clayton
10/8/2010 7:42:59 PM
I went to both Woods of Terror and Spookywoods last night. Both were great. If you go to either one, their is a $5 parking fee. That's something both started this year which I think is stupid. Also, Spookywoods has a zip line this year. It's pretty expensive though.
10/9/2010 11:52:34 AM
I thought Woods of Terror was way too long and not that scary.I went last year cause it got ranked in the top 20 scariest Halloween attractions in the nation, and the only thing it had going for it was sheer size/length. The scariest part of the whole place was feeling like you might be stuck in it forever.
10/9/2010 5:33:29 PM
Went to the fear farm a few years back and thought it sucked. Kersey Valley Spooky Woods is f'in awesome. I go every year and it gets better and better.
10/10/2010 1:15:08 PM
Spooky Woods is running a good deal on tickets. You can get a ticket for Thursday or Sunday for $8. This is for the whole season. Though the $8 ticket deal ends this weekend.
10/15/2010 9:50:41 AM
Where'd you see that discounted special of $9?
10/15/2010 10:41:33 AM
Go trick or treat southeast Raleigh.
10/15/2010 1:05:56 PM
^^^ Shit glad to know that. I'm going this Sunday lol.
10/15/2010 1:18:38 PM
There were only 200 of the $8 tickets available, sold out now.
10/16/2010 11:40:56 PM
Their will have more discounts; even free tickets..http://www.spookywoods.comhttp://www.facebook.com/fearnet?ref=tsWendys has $15 off single day tickets coupons for Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream.
10/17/2010 12:43:09 PM
is kersey valley spookywoods really worth the $25? That seems pricey, but everyone raves about it supposedly.wife and I will be in Boone next saturday and thought we'd stop there on the way home if it was really worth it..what all does the $25 ticket include? how long does it take?
10/17/2010 1:32:11 PM
^ Yes it's worth it. For the $25, you go through a haunted house which has a SAW theme this year. Then you go on a haunted tram ride through the woods. The Tram will take you to the ghost walk. This is a haunted trail walk through the woods. Afterwards, you get back on the tram to the cornfield. You go through the cornfield to the haunted castle. The castle is the last attraction and it is huge. Their are a different themed rooms through it. That's basically all of Spookywoods.Their is a zipline this year that takes you over Spookywoods but it's expensive. I think for a full zipline it's like $60.Oh yeah, their is a separate $5 parking fee at Spookywoods. [Edited on October 17, 2010 at 5:55 PM. Reason : ..]
10/17/2010 5:54:24 PM
approximately how long does it take to go through all that once you are in the gate?
10/17/2010 6:47:29 PM
It takes at least an hour.
10/17/2010 10:27:13 PM
damn, badboyben, looks like you fundamentally don't know the difference between there and their
10/18/2010 8:48:08 AM

Went to spookywoods tonight. It was ok, but I wasn't impressed. Definitely not worth the hour and a half drive, and probably not worth the $20.[Edited on October 22, 2010 at 2:34 AM. Reason : and it didn't even take a whole hour]
10/22/2010 2:28:31 AM
Clayton Fear farm is alot of fun if you go in a group. Pretty good and gory haunted houses. Get the $25 pass to see just about everything. A couple of notes:-for those with scared girlfriends, there are a few exhibits that are on the tame side: the 3D house of dreams, the cornmaze, and the spinning hole. -Avoid the hayride if you are in line with a TON of tweenage girls. There are times when things get scary and they plop and fall all over the place screaming their heads off. I had one sit right in my lap-Bring cash. There is an ATM inside the consession stand but it charges $3-SLAUGHTERHOUSE FTW!!!
10/26/2010 11:34:34 AM
^ so is the corn maze worth the $12? we're thinking of going tomorrow night...wife gets scared easily

i went to woods of terror sunday.lesson learned. will not do tha againThe experience would have been amazing if not for the 20 million people at a time they letit is tough to stay ahead of the pack to get all the scares if a group in front of you JUST went through that section, at the same time if youre with a group its a dic move to try to leave them behindfrom now on ill just go on days that arent reduced price, its GOTTA be less people. This is one of the things in life where its better to spend MORE money than to slide in on the cheap day[Edited on October 26, 2010 at 5:21 PM. Anyone been this year? My friends and I are going this weekend and wanted to know what to expect.
10/17/2011 4:52:20 PM
^^ It will still be crowded on Friday and Saturday. I have yet to get to a haunted house. I want to go to Busch Gardens but don't know if I will or not. If not, I'll probably do Spooky Woods.
10/17/2011 5:39:09 PM
10/18/2011 8:54:10 PM
^And for clarification, I was talking about Woods of Terror here. I'd definitely hit up Spookywoods before this one.One more thing about Spookywoods -- not sure if I believe it, but it's worth noting. There's reportedly been a lot of legit paranormal activity inside one of the buildings. Several ghost-hunter groups have investigated there, and they almost all find crazy stuff going on. The biggest story seems to revolve around a ghost they've nicknamed the Fiddler. Here's a little blurb I pulled off the Ghost Hunter NC website.
