My gf's yahoo account got spammed. I checked my email this morning and at 12:00am she sent out a mass email that had ed pills and weight loss pill links inside it. Obviously, she isnt the one that sent it, but somehow her account got hacked into. What are the steps to fix/avoid this? All the info I can find is for reporting spam that she would get, not how to fix a hacked account.

If she can still login, I would start with changing her password. Then immediately followed by moving her to Gmail.

I had something similar happen to me - my drafts folder on my junk email account had like 300 drafts for emails with pills in it.I just changed my password and besides the "you've tried to log in a bazillion times with your old password" messages I'm good. But the address was what I use to sign up for crap that requires an email, and the pass was 1234 cause I didn't care. No wonder I got hax0red

Yeah, I'm not saying it doesn't happen but regardless Gmail >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yahoo mail in general.
