"it does bother me that 10 percent of American families contribute net zero to the federal government even as they can vote on expensive programs to which they won't contribute, whether it's foreign wars or domestic entitlements. At the very least, it strikes me as an awkward civic deficiency."This is from a news article on yahoo. My roomate and I were talking about how our country is full of freeloader pieces of shit. I went further to say it should be illegal to have children if you don't make enough money, but this would be a hard law to pass as it gets into the whole area of human rights. Just seeing what people think.

I think we should have death panels for all the unemployed to judge future value. Those who aren't judged to have future value should be summarily executed.

I just had a baby and I make barely anything in grad school and my girlfriend is unemployed. She is on her parent's health insurance for now so baby will be on Medicaid and maybe WIC if a nutritionist signs off on it. Between the three of us we will definitely contribute net zero this year at least...?

lol well seriously, everything up to the elipsis in my first post is true. There is actually a company that either the hospital or County pays to send reps to your hospital room to help you fill out all of your medicaid forms for your baby at no charge to you. All you have to do is mail in a copy of the birth certificate in a prepaid envelope. I would like to get on WIC just to help pay for supplemental formula and all, but we will only be eligible if there is a proven nutritional risk for the baby.[Edited on August 27, 2010 at 12:09 PM. Reason : would you rather us have an abortion?]

Obviously he was unplanned, in my ideal world everyone is married first but that doesn't mean I was going to give up on a life. I vowed to make it work no matter what it took, and other parents will probably agree that they would do the same. By finishing grad school I will make a lot more in the future to support my child without government assistance and my son has become my motivation for that now.I don't condone people abusing medicaid and other govt assistance but there are many legitimate users as well.
8/27/2010 12:13:22 PM
We live in a world now where oral contraception is cheap and condoms are passed out for free. Having an "unplanned" child is not really a good word to use. More like "irresponsible conception"
8/27/2010 12:15:21 PM
Exactly. Contraceptives are ALWAYS 100% effective.
8/27/2010 12:17:22 PM
well 99.99999999% if you use them correctly

The guy is in pharmacy school he obviously knows everything.
8/27/2010 12:21:40 PM
Well that is a different issue altogether that neither my girlfriend and I would go around talking about on the internet. As far as govt assistance, as I said I would never condemn someone using it legitimately. As someone on it I am probably even more mad at the people who abuse the system as they increase the amount of oversight, paperwork, and time needed to get aid to those who actually do need it.
8/27/2010 12:22:43 PM
they are over 99% effective if used correctly. i dont know the exact number sig figures you fag. And if you are so worried use birth control correctly and pull out. I dont see how that would fail. There is no such thing as an unplanned child without an immense amount of irresponsibility.
8/27/2010 12:22:50 PM
actually I am in my second year of pharmacy school and have worked part time in retail for years
8/27/2010 12:23:27 PM
You graduated college and you still call people "fag?"
8/27/2010 12:24:19 PM
i will continue to call people fags probably for the rest of my life as long as they fit the description

8/27/2010 12:28:38 PM
"Don't worry guys I worked in retail for years."I didn't know what I was thinking calling you out like that. This is obviously serious business to you.Carry on.Of course by carry on I mean, continue to dig yourself into this hole of fail you began and are oh so cleverly continuing to get deeper into.
8/27/2010 12:29:49 PM
hey man i realize you can't read and i said over 99%. I dont know the exact decimal. If you care that much get a fucking monograph and read about it. And why would you blow your load in a girl over 100 times and risk the possibility of her getting pregnant one time if you don't plan on having a baby? That is my point. Oh, and learn to read. I need to emphasize this point twice.
