9/3/2010 7:17:59 AM

anyone been to asheville before? I planned on riding my motorcycle up but don't know if it'll be safe over the weekend.
9/4/2010 6:12:09 PM
^not sure where you are coming from, but for an experienced biker going west on i-40 from raleigh, that drive should be most enjoyable. the last 45 minutes to an hour will be twisting around the mountains.
9/4/2010 6:13:34 PM
yeah, I bought my rc51 from the biltmore area a couple years ago and rode it home but the ride was shitty with a sport touring rear and a bald front
9/4/2010 8:07:14 PM
ill be therepress passes!
9/4/2010 8:25:46 PM
holy shit that looks awesome.
9/6/2010 12:29:36 PM
Anyone heard the other new single from Cee Lo, "Georgia?" It's really good, too. His album might be great when it comes out.
9/6/2010 12:52:00 PM
^ there should be no "might" in your comment. Have you listened to his other two solo albums ? Both are great, and I am expecting this to be no different. Not trying to be a dick either, it just blows my mind how many people have never really gotten into Cee-Lo, in any capacity.
9/6/2010 7:54:20 PM
never assume that someone that has made great albums in the past can continue to make themi think the new cee-lo will be excellent, but to illustrate my point i give you weezer
9/6/2010 7:58:50 PM
Yeah, I've heard both the solo albums. They're good, but I wouldn't say great. Same goes with his Goodie Mob output. I feel like his new record, when it comes out, could be GREAT; like, the best thing he's ever put out. That's just judging by the first three songs, though; we'll see.
9/6/2010 8:00:33 PM
^^ you both have a point. His albums just do something for me that most other hip hop albums dont. I think the two he put out are both great, and Goodie Mob's still standing is one of my favorite albums of all time. But obviously that is just my opinion and nobody is beyond putting out a shitty album. dillydaliant, you are right though, this could be the best thing he has ever put out.
9/6/2010 10:31:26 PM

Schedule came out today. They scheduled it perfectly (to me at least). Doing:Friday: Big Boi>MGMT>RJD2>Dan Deacon>Girl TalkSaturday: Nosaj Thing>School of Seven Bells>Caribou>jonsi>Matmos>Massive Attack/Dam-Funk>Four TetSunday: Sleigh Bells/Omar Souleyman>Neon Indian/Cee-Lo Green>Hot Chip>end of El-PGoing to be an epic three days.
9/17/2010 7:22:18 PM
only conflict is neon indian and cee lo
9/17/2010 10:04:41 PM
Yeah, that and Massive Attack/Dam-Funk and Big Boi/Devo. But those weren't too tough for me. Really want to see Dam-Funk, but definitely can not miss Massive Attack. And Big Boi will probably be more entertaining than Devo IMO.Are you going, Bweez?[Edited on September 17, 2010 at 10:22 PM. Reason : .]

10/27/2010 7:21:49 PM
Anyone know why Cee-lo is no longer on the list?
10/28/2010 1:22:16 PM
he cancelled weeks ago...seems like a case of his management being greedy pricks
10/28/2010 1:54:16 PM
for some reason this thread didn't pop up in my search, but in case anyone didn't hear, DEVO has cancelled due to emergency hand surgery for bob 1however, mark and gerry are still coming and are putting together a special performance
10/28/2010 6:00:44 PM
girltalk fuckin KILLED it
10/30/2010 3:53:52 AM
Friday: Bonobo, MGMT, Dan Deacon, Girl TalkSaturday: Emeralds, Jónsi, Caribou playing a secret show with Four Tet, Massive Attack, Jon Hopkins, IkonikaSunday: Omar Souleyman, Younger Brother, Hot-Chip, Mindelixir, Marty PartyMost memorable performances: Jonsi and Jon Hopkins
11/1/2010 4:41:47 AM
Had an amazing time at this. Did Octopus Project/Big Boi/MGMT/Van Dyke Parks/Dan Deacon/Girl Talk on Friday, Nosaj Thing/Caribou/Jonsi/Four Tet & Caribou/Massive Attack/Four Tet on Saturday, and Shout Out Out Out Out/Sleigh Bells/Neon Indian/Hot Chip yesterday.Highlights for me were Jonsi, Hot Chip, Massive Attack, and Four Tet, but everything I saw was really good (even MGMT). And the fact that it was in Asheville and the shows didn't start until 6 made it more perfect, because we got to check out Asheville and all its great restaurants and bars and beautiful scenery during the day every day and then go to the shows at night. It was an unbelievable weekend. Only backdraw was that kids were going a little too nuts at some of the shows (not that I blame them for having fun) and the security was way too overzealous for most of the weekend; they made you feel nervous even if you had nothing to hide, which shouldn't happen. Also, a part of the floor in the pit almost caved in during Neon Indian's set, so they cleared out the pit for Hot Chip. That was kind of scary. Hot Chip was still awesome, though.
11/1/2010 4:21:47 PM
no one saw el-p at the orange peel Sunday night?Best set of the entire weekend. He had DamFunk and some other guy up on stage with him rippin' it on these giant moog keytars. It was space-funky.Oh, and I got accosted by security because they heard "someone sniffing" while I happened to be in the bathroom. Security at that place was ridiculous all weekend.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 10:09 AM. Reason : f]
