2000 Accord 2.3LCEL code P0135Upstream 02 sensor heater circuit malfunctionI was going to replace the 02 sensor myself, but I've been reading that replacing the sensor often doesn't resolve the CEL as it can actually be related to a problem in the wiring. Anyone wanna point me in the right direction here? Also had a brake light go out a day or two after I got the CEL. Replaced it and it burnt out again 3-4 days later. Possibly related?[Edited on August 23, 2010 at 6:01 PM. Reason : ]

no, the brake light is not related

Yeah I wouldn't really think so, just seems odd that it happened at the same time.

You've got plenty of age on that car to justify an O2 sensor heater circuit failure. If you really wanna know, unplug your sensor and check voltage across the two black (or two white; whichever there are two of) wires at the car's harness. Alternately, you can check resistance across the same two wires in the O2 sensor's harness...Otherwise, replace the damn thing, lol...or I can do it for you.

Thank you sir, I'll do that. Normally I would just replace it, but I've been reading about a lot of people with hondas who have replaced it only to find out that it was a wiring fault and not the sensor at all (in cars as old and older than mine). I can handle an 02 sensor, but I may have some work for you when I get some monies. As far as the brake light goes: I took the bulb out today. Both filaments were good. Checked all the connections and everything looked good. Put the same bulb back in and it worked fine. A few hours later, off again. I guess I've got a loose wire somewhere, but I definitely didn't see anything suspect.

Did you push the bulb in all the way?I had that happen with my car. I thought I had replaced the bulb, but the light went out. Found that I could press it in more.

Pushed it in as far as I could. Went out again and when I removed it the bulb was actually loose. Put it in again its been good for 2 or 3 days now. So we'll see what happens. Not sure what would cause it to work itself loose.

some of the bulbs if you touch them it will cause them to blow cause the oil in your skin. Did you use a rag or glove to put it in ?

I think thats only for halogen bulbs. And it wasn't burning out, just coming loose. It's been 4 days now and it's still good, hopefully it stays put.
