If you didn't know, they remodeled the Glenwood Ave Golden Corral, and by remodel I mean leveled the old one and build a new fancy-shmancy building. I went on opening day last Friday, the food was basically the same except the selection was like tripled. Asian food section, texmex, plus all the old favorites. The dessert bar has soft serve still, but also like 8 flavors of scoop ice cream, chocolate fountain, fresh made donuts, and my still favorite banana pudding.I would suggest sitting on the right when you come in, that's where the dessert bar is and there is a plate/silverware station as you go to the bars. The other side you have to walk back to the middle to get plates. It was pretty cold in there on opening day but that may have been to get ready for the noon rush (I got there at about 11). I really like the new decor, it still feels comfortable but definitely more modern. Also, just so you GC noobs know, you don't need a tray unless you are carrying like 8 cups for you kids. Just hold on to your glass and pay. Will update after binge eating for the next hour tl;dr- remodeled GC on glenwood, same location.

ive never been to a golden corral. i may have to, now, you make it sound so appealing. hahaha.
8/21/2010 11:41:50 AM
I haven't been in a long time. It's a great place to stuff yourself full of food. I should do this soon.
8/21/2010 11:42:43 AM
^^amish?you should go![Edited on August 21, 2010 at 11:43 AM. Reason : though apparently they had some issues with purchasing unwanted steaks from restaurants in the area]
8/21/2010 11:42:54 AM
I don't know about "unwanted" steaks, but they will definitely buy surplus whenever available, it can save you a ton of money and they are still the good steaks, just the original orderer didn't need as many as they thought. Unless we're talking like 10+ years ago.[Edited on August 21, 2010 at 11:47 AM. Reason : oh and I will try to take phone pics]
8/21/2010 11:46:32 AM
^^ I think theres only 1 GC in NJ, and that was over an hour away from me.....and when I go to buffets down here in NC, i usually just hit up the asian buffets. ive seen several GC's around here, but never thought to go in one. thats totally on my agenda today, now. lol.

8/21/2010 2:11:52 PM
Every time I walk out of Golden Corral, I wish I hadn't gone to Golden Corral. It always sounds good at the time, though.
8/21/2010 2:15:44 PM
that's the most adequately documented visit to Golden Corral i've ever seen
8/21/2010 2:16:49 PM
As an aside this location has always been a testing store where they try new foods/machines and will continue to be. This style building is obviously new, there are 3 others built currently but this is the only one with the big facade on the front, the rest are basically big boxes but about 30% larger as they are in more populated areas with a bigger market.
8/21/2010 2:20:42 PM
I'm going there now.I just need to find pants and put them on.
8/21/2010 2:22:54 PM
I don't understand quantity over quality when it comes to food.
8/21/2010 2:25:13 PM
How can you not understand that? Are you some kind of pinko?
8/21/2010 2:35:08 PM
I guess I just am not poor enough, or have a bad enough palate.
8/21/2010 2:37:42 PM
8/21/2010 2:38:15 PM
I've never known anyone to be so knowledgeable about Golden Corral.
8/21/2010 2:46:59 PM
i was about to come in here and ask someone to post pics
8/21/2010 2:48:59 PM

8/21/2010 2:52:55 PM

8/21/2010 3:10:17 PM
GC ain't poole's, for surebut the food's pretty good considering the variety of stuff they have to prepare and the time in which they have to deliver such quantities
